I think it’s gonna vary because the record is so fucking great - there is something for every type of TWY fan

Ok so here we go, quick first impressions before i pass out from combating a relentless cold and chugging cough syrup to alleviate it


i really genuinely love it. i just love it. i'll have to listen more to pick up on all the lyrics but this album definitely lives up to the interview where Dan said he felt the world was a lot smaller than we realize and that oceans dont separate us they unite us. every TWY album has expanded its scope further out and now the human race as a whole is under the lens in this album. theres some soft moments, theres some delicate moments, theres some dark moments, theres some heavy moments, theres a lot to digest here and i dont want to give too much away for fear of spoiling the album.

i think The Ghosts Of Right Now, It Must Get Lonely, and The Ocean Grew Hands To Hold Me are my favorites right now after 2-ish listens. ill post more thoughts later i guess, plus ill have a review up over at Sputnik soon, so i can expand my thoughts there.

Tears of joy will flow down my face watching TWY accept their AOTY Grammy.
