Not at all from what I can find. They will need to before the next show they do right? Aren't they going to Australia soon I think.

 

They have a show in New-York on March 16th it seems.

 

They have less than 2 weeks to think of something.

I'd laugh if they just a mannequin or something with a bass on it and a picture of Phil's face attached.

 

I watched one of Phil that was filmed mid-January but released at the beginning of this month, and they talked as if he was a member of SOTY (because he was at the time). That was kinda awkward.

No Ryan? If he's out of Greek Fire, I guess I was right about them not being friends at this time after all.

 

Im excited to finally hear the new music, but it kind of stinks under these circumstances.

 

I still have a tiny bit of hope that The Ride, Running Away and Saddest View are going to be on the new record. I didn't like Coming Out of the Rain that much, it was kinda meh. It's been almost 10 years and those good old songs still haven't been officially released.

 

I want a full quality studio version of saddest view so bad. I have a studio version I ripped off Youtube years ago, but it isn't perfect quality.

 

What a bummer that they had a falling out this bad. One aspect of the band I always liked was how fun they were and how they always seemed like family.

 

Ryan's guitar playing was the best part of Greek Fire, so I have very limited interest in what they do going forward.

At least Ryan said in that billboard live thing that he's already writing music for the next SOTY album, and that we won't have to wait that long for SOTY music ever again.

 

With Ryan out, it's a Maybe Today reunion. I wish I could get a legit copy of their old EP. It's awesome.

I'm bummed that they all had what seems to be a falling out. I never would've imagined that for these guys.

 

I just want to know what happened?!

 

Take it with a grain of salt, but I read that Phil's ex-wife had an affair with a STL politician or something. That could be complete and total bullshit. And I don't know why that would effect the band's relationship.

I feel like I've heard something before about wives.....like Phil's ex wife and Ryan's wife are sisters or something like that? Maybe shit like having to choose sides got messy and personal.

If it's anything like that, it'd probably make a weird band statement haha so maybe best to just not say anything.

 

It does seem to be that this bad blood is between Ryan and Phil. They aren't friends anymore on social media and it looks like Ryan is out of GF. Perhaps Phil made the other bandmates choose between Ryan and him, and they chose Ryan. Idk, this is all speculation.

 

My guess would be bc Phil is in a band with that lame John Feldmann.

Just now catching up with all this. Phil's post makes it seem much less amicable...

 

My guess is touring. I think Phil was the reason for only a handful of scattered shows being announced in support of Wolves. Perhaps this means a full tour will soon be prepared/announced?

 

Always been a casual Story of the Year listener, but I just revisited In the Wake of Determination, and that album is quite the banger. Especially the track "Our Time Is Now".
