    Give what you can.

Ahhhh good point. Yeah Devo has definitely played before. Couple years ago... Can't remember which one. Not to mention, even though there's only three mystery spaces, they always announce way more than 3 bands in the second wave. I think people were pretty sure Tool was gonna headline too right?

In the end, it doesn't really matter to me from here on out since the initial line up or more than enough to keep me grinning like an idiot for the whole weekend. But ya know... Internet rumors are a fun way to procrastinate.

I can't find Devo on any of the posters, but I, too, could have sworn they've played before. If they're on I'll probably go. It would make my dad proud.

Is it possible they were on one a bit ago but dropped off? It's either that or they were heavily rumored and I mixed it up. Glad to hear I'm not the only one thinking it. I'm also totally in agreement that anything else is gravy, so speculating is just all in good fun. I don't care if every band added doesn't do it for me. I've learned that you need some filler or else your heart will be breaking all weekend.

I believe they have been on a Lolla admit.

I swear I've seen it but maybe I'm imagining things.

Devo have never been announced or anything but someone on some board once claimed they were playing.

Yeah this is shattering my brain right now. I think the fact that there are no google images of them playing is a pretty good indication it didn't happen. But I coulda swore I remember them being announced one year. Weird.

What is it that you're missing? Your list looks similar in length to a lot of others here, so I'm surprised to see you say that you aren't happy. Do you need one more in the amazing category?

I think I'm going to make my first trip to Chicago for this, and I'm super excited

I've never followed along with Riot Fest before because it wasn't realistic for me to go. Can someone with experience let me know whether they eventually sell single day tickets, and when single day lineups are usually announced? I'm not sure how many vacation days I'll be able to get for this, so if either the Friday or Sunday lineups are mediocre this would make the trip a lot more palatable

Yes they do. I believe they announce the daily lineup and start selling them in late July.

Awesome, thank you. It may end up being cheaper to order a 3-day pass anyway but it's good to know!

To everyone wondering about previous Devo appearances, are you sure you're not confusing Riot Fest with Lolla? I saw Devo at Lolla a few years back (edit: 2010)

yes i need more in the amazing category haha. Also the issue is that with most of my "great" category, well, I've seen them all very recently (not riotfest's fault of course). It would be nice to get 1 more WOAHHHH!! no way!! band.

I never pay much attention to Lolla, but I do remember someone on a forum claiming they were a lock a few years ago. That must be it.

I'm a little surprised that The Amity Affliction isn't playing. New album coming out this summer and they're playing a couple of other festivals in the U.S. in September.

I do not understand this ranking system! Hahaha.

And man, I just realized that we have to wait like three months for the aftershows now. That will be a harder wait than anything else. I hope they are amazing like last year.

All I really want is a Vandals aftershow, which probably won't happen. I'm hoping that maybe they will at least open an aftershow for Bad Religion or something though. I usually skip the aftershows but I would have to make an exception for that.

  22. I'm usually too beat after being at the fest all day to do any aftershows. The only one I've been to in the past three years was Mineral because there's no way I'd miss a chance to see them. If Thursday or TWY do aftershows this year, I'll probably go to those, and maybe Jimmy Eat World too if it makes a schedule conflict during the day easier.

I know different tastes and everything, but I think I die a little inside every time someone says they have no interest in the Misfits reunion.

Agreed! Someone on reddit said the headliners were "so bleh" and I just wanted to weep.

I was definitely exhausted after seeing TAI... on Thursday and Trio on Sunday, but both shows were a blast. Anything to help with conflicts this time, although I have always seen bands twice with an aftershow instead of using it as an excuse to skip the fest set. MCS, Thursday, and BN would all be incredible and seem pretty likely.

Anyone know how much the 2 day tickets were after the daily lineup was released in July last year? I'm flying in from Toronto and will likely only be able to go two days but if I recall 2 day tickets in July were pretty comparable to the $169 you can buy a 3 day ticket for now. Figure if that's the case, I might as well just get a three day pass.
