Do you listen to The Appleseed Cast?

I just bought Jimmy Eat World/Rozwell Kid tickets today. Currently it’s my next concert lined up (in July!) but I’ll probably go to some other stuff before then.

My wife and I are seeing Anthony Jeselnik in a couple weeks so that should be fun.

 

I do (but don’t revisit as often as I should)

 

JEW with Rozwell is such a great lineup. Jews killing it with openers rn.

The Appleseed Cast is stupid underrated

 

They are certainly special!

I’ve actually never seen JEW (I know, REPORTED) so I’m really excited

 

Im seeing Citizen at the end of May and am very stoked for that. Will be my third time seeing them already.

 

And Radiohead for the first time (finally!!!) July 16th

 

It still makes me happy that i put that show on your radar and that you actually went for it! :)

 

Agree that Absolutes is their best by a good margin. Basic Man actually grew on me quite a bit after I had a pretty negative initial reaction to it. I come back to this and a few other tracks with some frequency.

 

I quite like the opener on that record. Im gonna play it now actually to refresh my memory. I like the story behind it. The follow up to Absolutes was immensely forgettable/disapointing but ya Basic Man was not bad.

 

Still i would put them in my third tier of favorite bands because of Absolutes alone (orginal version and the reissue) + the trilogy of eps (forget what they are called together) + basic man

 

Cecil Frena has some legitimate competition for AOTY

 

@Patterns in Traffic absolutes is an all timer for me (top 10-15)

 

Yeah Not Quite Yours was very disappointing. The middle section of Basic Man is pretty strong IMO

 

Don't know if I'd have it that high but it is an amazing record. I just looked over the tracklist to refresh my memory and was like "oh shit that's a great song" ... but for like every track haha

 

Are you on the site rate your music by any chance? Cause i got someone into barcelona shortly after absolutes came out would be quite funny if it was you lol

 

An underrated band that barcelona did a split with is the band Paper Route. Their ep Are we all forgotten is excellent so is their debut album and their latest one. Definitely an underappreciated band imo.

 

Not familiar with that site, that would be quite the coincidence!

 

Paper Route is awesome! Are We All Forgotten is a great EP. I think over time their debut full length has become their album that I revisit least even though it is really good. I really dig Peace of Wild Things and Real Emotion

 

Had to ask since barcelona/SYML is not something i think i could talk to many other ppl on chorus about.

A funny story about Paper Route i tried to buy one of their early eps on cd back in the day and lost out on it in the last minute. Very shortly after i saw someone on rym catalog it as owning it on cd so i asked him if it was him who just bought it on ebay (and beat me out for it) and he said yes actually it was him lol
