it's a good catchy alt rock song, there's nothing wrong with that

It's also worse than anything they've put out since YFW

I think it's easier to like it if you take the other albums out of the equation, though that's easier said than done I'm aware

it was also the last brand new record i listened to

 

Unless I'm in the right mood, I'd rather listen to this than anything on Daisy right now and most of YFW. It's just easier to listen to than Daisy and more catchy/better lyrics than at least half of YFW

I like it more than probably half of YFW but also those songs have nostalgia attached to them that put them above a lot of "better" music in my mind.

YFW to me is 100% nostalgia. If that came out now, I wouldn't like it at all. The only time I play it now days is if I want to listen to Brand New and I just can't do the other 3 and the demos any more.

 

I did not like YFW at all (am in the camp who listened to it late though so there's no nostalgia) but I still think more of it than this song idk

And I really want to like this song

 

Based on this thread, it almost seems as if music is subjective and people like different things

 

I personally like Mene much more than Nightmare.

 

Haha yeah I feel you on the Pete move. Jesse's sometimes awkward lyrics are practically the only remaining indicator that they were ever part of the early 2000's emo scene.

I got into YFW pretty late but it was when I was just starting my pop punk phase. At that point Daisy had already come out but I wasn't really ready for anything post-Deja. They seemed too "out there" for me at the time. What a fool I was.

 

I'm with you on that one. Love the yelling vocals. I prefer the yelling Sealed To Me too. I feel like Mene was a cross of Daisy and Deja

 

Yeah I'm not saying Mene is my favorite or anything, but that pointed more in a direction I would be interested in than Nightmare does.

 

Yeah absolutely! I heard Out of Range and then Mene, assumed the former was going to be on the new record and freaked out about how cool the new direction seemed to be

I never thought I'd get to see Logan live, and now I've seen it four times since 2011. It was my white whale for the longest time. Here's to hoping they start incorporating it in sets again this summer. Would prefer it over any other YFW songs at this point if they plan on including any from it, anyway.

 

There is movement on Mike Sapone's instagram. I wonder if something is about to happen. Looks like it may just be RATM stuff though.

 

But what is actually good on YFW?
