COD WWII worth it for $30?

 

I actually really like the COD WWII campaign. Feel like it's a lot better than just "go here, shoot this" like some of the last titles.

 

Cod game is sick. Not sure If I want to spend more money on the DLC package though.

Going to give it a shot. I played about 25 minutes of MP in November and enjoyed it a fair amount.

 

COD multiplayer is the same as it has been for 15 years. Noting particularly interesting, but a great way to kill time and become eternally frustrated.

Naughty Dog | An Update from Studio President Evan Wells

As we are kicking off 2018, we have some exciting studio news we wanted to share. During a recent all-studio meeting, we announced some well-deserved promotions:

In recognition of his expanded role, contributing on critical, studio level decisions, Neil Druckmann is now Vice President of Naughty Dog. He’s been a vital part of the management team for some time now, and we’re proud to formally acknowledge his involvement. In addition to his new position, Neil will continue as the Creative Director on The Last of Us Part II.

We’re also excited to announce that Anthony Newman and Kurt Margenau are the joint Game Directors on The Last of Us Part II. Both Kurt and Anthony joined Naughty Dog during Uncharted 2 and have been instrumental in leading the design department, and have been key contributors on our subsequent games. Emilia Schatz and Richard Cambier are the Lead Designers that round out the extremely talented design department’s leadership team.

We have such an incredible team at Naughty Dog, and I’m always happy when I am able to recognize those who have made an outstanding contribution to our games and the studio. Please join me in giving them all a big congratulations!

No. Maybe a rental for the campaign. Maps are terrible, the scorestreaks are lame, and everyone uses the same gun out of the supply drops.

This argument is boring and true of many franchises. Mechanics just don't change especially when the playerbase isn't asking for it. Honestly its an arena fps at its core and each iteration does at least a few things new. The jet pack system completely revamped the pace of the game and added verticality (for better or worse). It has not been the same at least not in the literal sense that phrase gets used when talking about CoD.

 

Vermintide 2 is so rad and so fun co op.

 

I think that if I played MW and WWII one after the other, I wouldn't notice a single difference in the game play. The game is a little bit more customizable with loadouts and rewards, but the games really haven't innovated much of anything. Advanced and Future provided you with a few different things, but at the end of the day, year to year, the games aren't really doing much of anything different.

A lot of the reasons the games are mostly the same is because people complain about innovation. They worry about slumping sales, but can't find a medium where they can add new things and drop tropes of the series. They'll either lose the regulars who don't think it is Call of Duty or lose folks who are bored with the same old shit.


I think that the biggest innovation we've gotten was the Extinction mode. That is the one thing over the years that I have really LOVED. Zombies are tired and overdone.

I mean, what do people expect them to do? Make it unrecognizable and risk burning diehard fans? Super Mario Bros stays the same other than new levels and new power ups but no one cares

I actually started playing it a few weeks ago. I really like it so far. I’d say grab it if you see it on sale.
