Had vegan Cajun for lunch today and it was very good. If you’re ever in the Hollywood area, check out Krimsey’s.

 

there is some super authentic mexican place that opened up down the street from my office. make their own tortillas, and beans, and everything. i have no idea why, but they have a shit ton of vegan options, inlcuding fake meat, and daiya and what not. it's taking all willpower I have not to eat their every day. and honestly, it might possibly be the best mexican food I've had in californnia, which is obviously a pretty compettive market.

 

we have a place like this on the outskirts of dallas! it started off as a regular family owned small mexican place that served non vegan options but did "vegan Thursdays". as word spread, they were serving more vegan product than they could imagine. with the demand and some blacklash to vegan customers being reluctant to continue to support a business that served meat, they made the change to all vegan. Now the family who owns it are all vegan too. theres a bit of a taboo when it comes to traditional mexican food being vegan, people say it cant be done but they do a really good job. just like in california, we have some stiff competition for mexican food in texas too so i hear you.

also not a vegan place but theres a small latin place near me that serves veggie tacos with sweet potatoes. its vegetarian but its easily turned vegan minus a coleslaw they put on it. its so good.

 

Veggie Grill is opening three blocks from my office next week and i have no willpower when it comes to saving my money and not eating out.

I'm not sure. I've had it on a pizza and didn't love it and it may have caused me stomach issues the next day. On the other hand I'm willing to try it again

I don't think so. I eat dairy still, not as much as I used to. It's possible that I'm mildly intolerant though, I do tend to have gas

 

Well then idk but I do know daiya has contact with dairy and other stuff so it could've been from that but since you're not I'm not sure, might just be because it sucks

 

Actually, I think there's a vegan cheesery somewhere not far from me. I should check it out.

 

The idea of making a cheese like substance from cashews is very strange to me
