Just checking out posting a youtube video. This is a fun little parody about what I do at my job if you want to watch it.

Haha, yeah, that was one of those things that just made sense (especially on mobile). On desktop on the far right "last post" column, clicking the username will also take you to the last page in a thread if you like that better, but I'm all about the unread. The little arrow also gives you some options right away to do common things (follow/unfollow thread, post a reply, etc.). I wanted to open up all the ways someone can browse a thread/forum — and especially give more options from the followed thread page (which I personally use so often).

Yeah, me too. On a forum or conversation like website that has options at usually the top or bottom of a page, it just makes so much sense. In fact I loved it so much I added it to all the pages on mobile.

LOL. Also I just wanted to use multi-quote.

It's like 5+ years of dormant ideas and improvements to I think every aspect of the forum. So many big, and little, things I've wanted to do for years.

 

This video made me want to go watch some Scrubs again.

 

I really, really like how convenient the followed threads is on the forum page.

 

It's so funny bc he's an MD and does a lot of the parodies about jobs in the medical field. He visited our lab and was hilarious.

 

I enjoyed coming up with them more than I care to admit. Basically the current batch are all based on things I like. I need to add some more in the future.

I still nerd out hard when I highlight text in a post and the little quote/reply button pops up on the desktop. Or just sometimes when coming from AP.net to hear and I see all the clean crisp lines and images.

 

Quick question... I'm still getting email notifications of replies to threads even though I disabled that under "Preferences" yet kept notifications on the site itself on. Is the setting called "...and receive email notifications of replies" not the right one?

 

I'm assuming it's because you replied to some threads previously so you're set up for email notifications on those already.

Is this going to replace AP or is this going to be a completely separate thing?

 

I disabled mine in the e-mails I got and it worked. I couldn't get the one you're talking about to work.

That also works. If you follow Jason's link in his above post you can disable them all at once.

 

I can't say a whole lot about it quite yet, and all the details about it all are still kind of hush-hush, but my plan is to rebrand and replace.

I kind of got the sense that's what would eventually happen when you rebranded the podcast... would you be able to give some insight into what you see as the benefits of rebranding, as opposed to just upgrading the AP.net forums? I can kind of guess but I'd be interested to hear it from you.

 

Speaking of my job, I got to dissect a 10 lb Uterus not too long ago. I'm not supposed to but our Pathologist knows how much I love gross stuff so he walked me through it.

 

Are uteruses supposed to be that big?
