I was a late bloomer so I started with Pageant Material and that's the one I got hooked on so for me I revisit PM more, but Trailer is no slouch.

 

I think Pageant Material is a little better just because it has my favourite songs of hers on it. They're pretty close for me though.

 

You can't just say that and not say which one it is!

 

Late to the Party is my number 1. Just looove that song.

Leaving off Pageant Material and Merry Go 'Round was hard though.

 

Thank you for making sure I never buy the vinyl. Breaking up that "Somebody to Love"/"Miserable"/"Die Fun" triptych is like breaking up "Golden Slumbers"/"Carry That Weigh"/"The End"

Yeah, it's very sad.

 

Pageant Material is the better overall record by a lot for me, and Late to the Party is my favorite song of hers.

 

The back half of PM is probably the stretch I'm least acquainted with, so I have to spend more time with that.

I've been listening to her pretty much non-stop since she announced the album.

 

My favorite from her. I've listened to PM twice on the way home and I actually do think I like it bettter.

though the two new songs are probably her best

 

I dig both just about equally.

I think STDP has a little problem with sequencing, throwing in "Dandelion" too early and "Stupid" is just kind of a weak song. And I think "Cup of Tea" should have been left as a b-side for PM. But the rest of the songs are super strong.

Late to the Party overall but I can totally see why someone would say Merry Go Round

 

Dimestore Cowgirl is my favorite. Also, Ribbons And Bows.

 

Yessss to love for Ribbons and Bows! Christmas Makes Me Cry literally makes me cry. The line about her parents getting older... ugh.

...I really love her Christmas album, as I've mentioned before, haha

 

I'm a big Christmas music fan and I think it's one of the better Christmas albums out there. Also it's probably my second favourite album of hers, after Pageant Material.

 

Back to Pageant Material today. "Dime Store Cowgirl" is such a great autobiography song.

 

Is the Christmas album original songs? I haven't actually listened to that one yet.

(My favorite Christmas album is She & Him's first one, if anyone cares.)

A lot of the non-originals are pretty obscure, which is great.
