Do people actually listen to this? It's a simple basic beat made from a computer and auto tune...I just can't see people actually being into this.

 

Saw him open for nothing,nowhere. last night. Set was hype and he was a super nice dude. Very appreciative.

 

Type of music you cry to in the backseat of an uber at midnight

 

Sunn O))) is a somewhat popular drone metal band where they literally play fuzzy, drawn out guitar and bass chords for 10-20 minutes at a time and occasionally have a black metal vocalist shriek over those passages. They sold out a 1000+ cap venue last time they came to Chicago despite not being music to a large percentage of the population.

If there's an audience for that, there's an audience for this.

If you're vaguely into them I recommend going to see them at least once. They cover most of the big hits from each album and they do put on an entertaining show, but that band has been on autopilot since they started headlining arenas.

 

I FULLY expect the FFDP/Breaking Benjamin, Zombie/Manson, A7X/Rage and Godsmack/Shinedown tours to be available using the Ticketmaster settlement vouchers.

 

The thing with 5FDP's shows these days is that, outside of a meltdown here and there, they seem to play the same setlist every night. Sure, they're a generic hard rock live act that plays mainly their hits, but it's a shame they barely play anything from their first couple records anymore.

 

Their lead singer is Tommy Vext, who is one of the most problematic singers in the hard rock scene. Apparently, he changed for the better, though. Idk.

 

Yeah that's exactly what I mean by how autopilot they are these days. It's the same setlist, with the same lines in between songs, and same stage setup for the past 4 years. It's weird to me that the first setlist mix up that they had since 2015 was done because Ivan was replaced for a tour with Phil from ATR.

 

I've never listened to this band but decided on a whim to look at their Setlist.fm because of this post and holy shit, I just kept clicking next page and the same sets came up over and over and over again.

 

Really? Which song, Vacation Town? I grew up on The Buzz, but I haven't listened to in forever. I thought for sure they didn't have as much hype as they did last record cycle.

also, 2k in the united states is very, very different than 2k in montreal. Montreal has a very very poor scene for all things "warped tour related" (aka pop punk, emo, metalcore, indie emo, etc.).

 

Call me a dork but I'd be so much more excited for that UØ/OM&M tour if Austin was still in the band.

 

Wait, is the UO/OM&M/WCAR tour real? I thought they just announced a b-market tour and Warped appearances.

 

I would be too.

I'd argue that the metalcore scene in Montreal is almost as strong as it is in parts of the states. Bands like ABR and Parkway have consistently been selling out Metropolis for years. Pop-Punk is very weak in comparison.
