First half of 2 is bad, second half is great. Probably my least favorite on the album.

 

I enjoyed pt 2 I think it does a great job of setting up the record,; pretty much lets you know that what you are about to hear is very.... Different

 

Yeah that was my first impression hearing it live, but when he did both back to back in London the first half of 2 kinda worked.

Btw how has everyone got this album somehow haha I feel left out, are you all reviewing it or something?

I just heard it a few times when the clip thing worked. I don't have the album.

 

I havnt listened to anything including those stupid clips that happened, but I do remember when they live streamed and played half the album and they played Pt.2 it took me a second to realize that the piano was intentionally off key.

I'm super interested to hear the studio version

 

I was unaware that people disliked Housebroken, it's one of my favorites on Home, Like No Place Is There.

 

A lot of people don't agree with/are made uncomfortable by the lyrical content. And on top of that it's just not the most exciting song musically on that album.

We've talked about it to death I don't think anyone wants to bring that up again lol, but that's the gist of it.

 

I agree. It's probably the only song that I skip on Home

 

When I said in my last post "I havnt listened to anything" I really should've just said I havnt heard the album, because yeah I've heard the singles and I've heard the live stream thing

 

Fair enough, I just had no idea haha not trying to bring anything back up that's already been discussed. I really enjoy the song musically, the verses sound breezy to me in a good way.

 

No you're good dude - the reason he said that isn't so much that it's bad to discuss things alrighty brought up, but rather that discussion led to like 3 days of contention on AP. (Obviously you arnt trying to do that, I'm just saying you have nothing to apologize for)

 

I fear what would happen in this thread if it got back to the Housebroken discussion while everyone's going crazy waiting for this album

Exactly, didn't mean to come off harsh @Ryan Garner, just wanted to quickly explain to you what people didn't like about that song without it turning into another huge discussion. As you can see, a lot of people were scarred for life lol.

Is it weird that I've like never listened to Motion City Soundtrack?

I seem to love getting into bands as soon as they break up though, so where should I start?

 

Even If It Kills Me is their most accessible album. Most people will probably tell you Commit This to Memory. I like EIIKM much more however

 

Commit This To Memory, hands down.

 

Commit This To Memory then go forward from there. Their progression is a little weird because every time they progressed their sound (EIIKM, Go) they received backlash and went back to a more CTTM sound (MDL, PS). Their debut is a bit rougher and darker than their other albums but its definitely worth a look as well. My favorite band

 

They're the best band. So important to me and many others.
