Eventually it will plateau but they haven't reached that point yet, and producing everything gives them the rights so its way cheaper to just make a ton of content than to keep licensing things. Its a long term plan and it seems to be paying off.

But yeah, I want the Doughboys show.

And I've been binging queer eye, the interior design remodels are nice, but nothing changes these guys more than a good haircut.

And Antoni BLESSING them with the knowledge of how to cut an avocado. Tan is so good too. I love when people can help with style while also respecting their personality and comfort level

After finishing a Scrubs binge, I'm back to bingeing Parks and Rec on Netflix and I've really forgotten how much I love this show.

I feel like I just always go back and cycle through Always Sunny, Scrubs, Community, and Parks and Rec. Considering only one of those shows is on Netflix, I'm really considering a Hulu subscription.

...and what the fuck, Netflix lost Wilfred too? That's some bullshit.

I love how its so focused on just basic shit, they tailor it a little bit guy to guy but its all basically the same general advice. Its real relatable to a mass audience, and the guys are so perfect.

I never watch reality shows but I love Queer Eye. I still find myself wondering how much staying goes into things, though. Like some of the stuff with Karamo and the cop had to be set up or something right

That was my least fave ep tbh. But idgaf about cop danger jokes and humanizing Trump supporters but I'm a bitter betty

It definitely feels like they try to enhance dramatic elements and craft a storyline, they're only there for like a week. A big part of that is just selective editing as well, who knows how many big emotional connection moments they initiated and then cut out.

also I messed up the double quote but yes I did read the article, whoever asked. I still think that's an absurdly large number.

Even despite the horrible reviews I still feel really compelled to watch Mute. Maybe my lowered expectations will be a good thing

Anyone know what that lock icon is at the top of certain shows? I've never seen it before until recently. And whats up with these "collect patches"? I'm really confused. It looks like its related?

Once you've reached that plateau- which they haven't, especially internationally (plenty of those shows are likely non-NA productions) - customer retention becomes the main focus, which can be even harder than growth. They don't want you to only sign up for selected months so there has to be something for you there every month, and different people like different stuff.

If you're seeing the lock icon on your phone/tablet or something, I think it's so you can "lock" the show so that if you accidentally touch the screen or something, it doesn't jump to a different spot in the movie or go away from what you're watching.

I think the lock icon is just on a few shows and they're interactive kids shows where you make choices to determine the story, like a choose your own adventure thing

I finished Everything Sucks. I absolutely love it.

I appreciate the fact that not everybody got his happy ending - the kids'll be alright. That being said, I'm so happy Kate got kind of a happy ending. Also, I wish they would not have included that scene at the very end, where Luke's father knocks on the door. It sets the show up for another season and honestly I'm not sure they should make one.

I wonder if Netflix will ever release a film directly to theaters and then put it up for streaming as soon as it's theatrical run is over. Kind of like what Amazon Studios has done.
