yeah it sucks. I just keep waiting for the fever to finally break for good and it just keeps creeping back up when the medicine wears off.

on top of work being shit and my manager being inconsiderate it sucks.

 

What do you do when your kids are sick as far as work goes? Are you allowed to work from home or do you have to take off or what? I'm not trying to be too nosy, just curious how it works for everyone else!

Typically when my kids are sick, either my wife or I have to stay home with them. She's allowed to work from home sometimes, but I can't really do what I do from home (have you ever heard of a train in a house?) so I end up burning through my paid time off. My parents (and my in-laws very occasionally) have watched the kids for us a few times during the workday, but they both live about an hour away and they're not always able to.

On a tv related note, I watched the 9th episode of Ozark last night and will hopefully wrap it up tonight!

so at my work we can work from home occasionally some managers are more accommodating than others. my current task is actually pretty hard to do remotely due to not having a good setup with monitors at work I have 2 monitors and that makes it so much easier, working on 1 laptop screen sitting on the floor in my daughters room doesn't really work very well.

our policy is if you're sick stay home, it's technically "unlimited' but my current manager gave me shit about it last year even though while he was my manager since july I never actually took an official sick day I just worked from home a couple time. it's obvious that he's judging me because I'm fat, he's brought up "fitness" a few times which it codes for "youre fat, in case I didn't already know that." it's bullshit and he hasn't emailed me

as for staying home when my kid is sick there's not an official policy as far as I know, my past managers always just said do what I needed to do and counted it as sick time. whenever I talk to my manager I'll find out if he's expecting me to use vacation time on it.

the wendy's one is pretty easy and simple and I think you've mentioned having a wendys near by.

as long as your location has mobile ordering.

download the app, sign up and join rewards, verify email, select location, add the free burger to your order, customize it however you like, mayo is gross. then add whatever else you want, fries, drink whatever or nothing. if you add nothing you don't have to put in a credit card.

I usually just get the burger free on the mobile order, then I order the fries in the store that way I don't have to add a credit card on the app.

so on days I go to wendy's I get a single with a large fries and a jr frosty for like $2.50 since I bought that free frosty keychain for $2 or something. also a good reason to order the fries in the store instead of the app so you get the free frosty.

to do it again.

clear app data or use a computer browser, repeat using a different email. or if you have gmail just put a dot somewhere in it. so like [email protected] for the first order, then [email protected] for the 2nd and [email protected] for the third. all those emails will go to the same gmail box since gmail ignores the period character.

in other words if you just want a burger you can eat free everyday.

if you want chick fil a you can eat free every day. haha.

no wonder I'm super overweight.
