I have a buddy who gives me shit for going to a pizza place and ordering "a giant hot pocket". So are Calzones a sandwich?

Cutting out meat was hard at first just cause I spent so much time checking labels and stuff. Now I have a pretty good idea of what's what so I don't have to look or I can scan it quickly. I used to keep a print out on the fridge of what ingredients I couldn't eat. Other hard part is the unoriginal jokes and ppl obsessing over my diet even tho I rarely if ever bring it up. My mom blames so much random stuff on my diet. Ppl also like to hang meat in my face or offer me meat cause I guess it's funny to them. Lots of "if you were on a desert island would you kill an animal for meat?" Questions.

In terms of missing meat that's not an issue at all. Never cared much for it. I feel waaaay less gross since I cut out red meat especially, and I've forgotten what most meats taste like anyway.

Aren't there some pill capsules that are not Vegan friendly or something like that?

This vegan talk is stressing me out

 

Those are the ones i was talking about. I was talking to the wife about that last night, that i'd heard they aren't vegan friendly but she didn't seem to know anything about that and made me think i was going crazy.

 

Yeah they're made from gelatin which is an animal product (cow bones or something?)

 

Made a homemade tomato-based pasta sauce from scratch last night with fresh tomatoes blanched and ice-bathed to remove skins, cooked down with fresh basil, thyme, rosemary, oregano, onion, garlic, paprika involved for a few hours and then served with homemade meatballs, fresh spaghetti and parmesan shavings - was so good I want it all over again.

Going for a month feels doable! God I can't imagine how tough it is though, especially given that I'm an awful cook, but hey, that'd be a good way to force myself to learn

 

I don't think I want to go completely vegan or vegetarian, but I would absolutely like to lean more towards a plant based diet, as I'm convinced that's overall the healthiest option.

 

I'm a borderline carnivore, so I wouldn't even consider it.

 

My roommate is on a diet right now and just texted me and my other roommate "There's an entire tray of chicken and sausage jambalaya in the fridge. Eat it.

JACKPOT. Don't have to tell me twice.

 

I feel like a paleo-ish diet with a good balance of meat and plants is the most healthy option. Just ignore the bullshit rules

 

Really mad at everyone for not tagging me in this vegan/vegetarian talk.

 

It's all about the Sour Patch Kids. Surprisingly vegan.

 

Does that mean they're not actually kids? Disappointing.

 

Also Fritos, Oreos, and Nutter Butters. Nutter Butters tha god of vegan snacks.

 

Sweet nibblets thank you. I love Sour Patch Kids even though I'm a carnivore.

 

Nutter butters dipped in whole milk are even better than Oreos dipped in whole milk
