epitaph is consistently poor with pressing though, they know they don't need to put that much care into their products

I played it once and thought it sounded okay. But my ears aren't as good as yours Jacob. You must teach me the ways my last professor could not

weirdly enough the smaller indie labels generally put out great sounding records because they actually care about their product. epitaph is borderline a major, so they don't have to care as much

Yeah I don't know I've never really noticed anything sounding bad from Epitaph

I thought Wait For Love sounded good when I spun it the other day

This is pretty much where I'm at. I've barely listened to most of my records tbh. They're just nice to have and I'd like it to be a big feature point in a room when I get a place of my own in the future. I'll certainly play some. Maybe I'll frame ones that sound like ass. Like Full Collapse

also sometimes it depends on the band pushing to get the vinyl done right whereas some bands have a hands off approach to the pressing and let the label handle all of it, when the bands are more involved it turns out better i think

vinyl itself is a low quality playback medium because there are so many factors that can affect the sound negatively

  8. My clear copy sounds fine

i pretty much buy vinyl because i love having big artwork to hold in my hands and i want a physical music collection to pass on to my kids and the packaging of vinyl makes them more appealing than cd's

i like listening to vinyl. it is fun. i’m not looking for FLAC quality here

  12. Basically. They’re fun to listen to and I do a lot but I’d never say their the best sounding or whatever.

my setup is mediocre at best but there are definitely some pressings that are magical on wax

I'm not an audiophile and my set up is shitty but this is noticeably worse quality that 90% of my collection.

We reach for the longest shadow

My white vinyl has a good amount of surface noise.

Yeah that's what I'm hearing, every time the noise dies down a bit and gets quieter I can barely hear a thing due to the noise.

I put the new Car Seat Headrest on straight after and it sounded a lot better.

I get this consistently with epitaph though, so this isn't a surprise.

except TWIABP, Harmlessness. Not sure how that came out sounding as awesome as it does.

I totally get listening to vinyl for the experience and unique quality of playback, I just don't go crazy over it like I used to

I have a smart TV that I can cast spotify to that is hooked up to a pretty good soundbar/subwoofer combo. I love my vinyl collection, but it's really simple to just do that.

I was a vinyl hypeboi for a minute but it’s just so inconvenient. And expensive in Canada.

I mostly just spin my copy of Goodness and Hounds of Love.

I have a pretty good set up and my copy of Keep You sounds meh. My worst sounding record Impossible Past from epitaph

my studio monitors and my audio interface are way better for listening than my vinyl set up and my turntable is in a different room than my desktop computer so i just listen on the computer because its better and more convenient
