Yeah, I took a good amount of time off from the Brand New thread at abpunk, but I'm excited to come back to a forum filled with a lot of excited people.

I knw that one post on ig they hinted at it in the comments section but that's not really enough to go on. Knowing them they could of just been playing into it which wouldn't surprise me lol

Was thinking the same thing, though it's been a while since I posted anywhere other than the Sports forum. I was this name or my full name back in the staff days.

 

Ah damn, that would explain it. Always felt so bitter about that because you guys always seemed to know everything first and I couldn't be a part of it. *weeps*

just catching up to this news now.

this year has been the most exciting for Brand New fans in a long time.

it would be bittersweet if we get a new album and they decide to call it a day.

No matter where this goes though, I'm glad we're all along for the ride.

 

Hoping this song isn't as straight forward as the clip seemed. I want more long/weird songs for sure.

Excited but didn't think the clip sounded very good.

Am I the only one that's excited for them going back to a simpler sound? I just hope Jesse takes the helm with the lyrics (I was never a big part of the AP BN threads so I'm sure everyone's played that opinion out and I'm gonna get lambasted for it).

 

I definitely want longer songs like Limousine, but both Mene and Sealed To Me really impressed me, despite the latter being surprisingly simple. I get what people are saying about it being a similar vibe to the demos, but I feel like this might be the Archers of the new album - I used to hate Archers. It was the one song I didn't listen to on what I consider a perfect album. And now I really dig it.
I digress - I see where you're coming from, but I still think the clip sounded good.

 

I'm kind of worried that right after Daisy they were talking about just releasing singles as they feel like it and after the mene release followed by nothing I'm too afraid the same might happen here...

 

yeah i've been thinking the same thing. i remember them talking about releasing music outside the traditional album format and i'm wondering if that's what we're seeing unfold here. i hope not because i love the album format and BN have always done it extremely well, but small doses of new music is still better than nothing.

 

The thing is, that procrastinate email alluded to the album being an unknown format. It could well be the case, that they're just recording as and when they have material and will be sending it out bit by bit, until eventually it's an albums worth and can release it as one thing.
