For sure, they're almost at Boris levels of prolificness at this point haha.

oh man this rips. and Martyrdod are easily one of the best crust bands ever, those last two albums they put out still get heavy play from me and they hit just as hard as they did the first time.

Another reason why I love Architects.

That's where I'm at in general with most straight crust bands at this point - I see them live, recognize the fact that they kick ass in that setting, make a mental note to download/stream/listen to their tunes, do it for maybe a day, and lament about the fact that crust has no sticking power.

When it's a band like Neolithic though, they usually stick around though. When crust influences are brought it to death metal/hardcore/black metal/etc., it adds a certain griminess to the music that I love.

Speaking of Neolithic, apparently they also have a three song 7" EP coming out in April too and they're playing MDF so I get to see them in May. I'm excited.

Trap Them breaking up made me sad. They had a nice layer of crust.

crust/grind combos are one of my faves, generally. bands like dead in the dirt, enabler (pre-jeff lohrber being outed as a fucking abuser), and homewrecker have been some of my faves the last 5+ years.

God, DitD was so good. I don't know if they broke up or are on hiatus, but the world needs more of them.

broken up afaik. the guitarist, blake, moved to idaho and has a new cavernous death/black/grind band called infernal coil. they're sick:

their drummer, hank, was also a guitarist in foundation (the sxe hardcore band) before they broke up. he currently has a new skramz band called slow fire pistol that's also sick:

    Random Friday updates:

The Noose Rot EP I posted earlier in the week is awesome, as expected. Filthy OSDM FFO Gatecreeper and Entombed featuring members of Gatecreeper and Skeletonwitch. Full EP isn't up on Bandcamp yet so a CVLT Nation stream will have to do:

Premiering NOOSE ROT "The Creeping Unknown" EP

The new Windhand/Satan's Satyrs split LP is pretty good. Windhand's two songs make for decent background noise...the psychedelic doom thing just doesn't do it for me as much anymore. Old Evil is a good song, but Three Sisters drags on a lottttt. Satan's Satyrs's side of the split is fun. Solid fuzzy metal/punk hybrid. I need to give them a more in-depth listen at some point.

Ataraxy is a solid death/doom band (I think they were posted earlier in this thread, but I cannot remember win nor do I feel like going back and searching through old posts, lolz). Also going to need to dive into this one a bit more, but the quality of the album appears consistent with what I expect from Dark Descent at this point:

they put out a cryptic facebook post about a year ago saying that people would probably hate the new material they're writing. not a peep since.

Welp. The Taake/King Dude show here in Chicago on March 30th appears to have been cancelled by the venue.
