I was away for a week. Did you all already discuss the new KHIII trailers? I feel 15 again.

 

I geeked out a little when I got to the Ubisoft mission in watch dogs 2. It was great.

I'm on the second day in South Park Fractured But Whole and it's pretty immediately not as good as the first one. Hoping it improves as it goes on (even though the first one was amazing from the beginning) but so far the story isn't as good, the jokes aren't as funny, and I like the battle system less

The breathtaking Florence captures falling in love better than almost any game

Might play this.

EDIT: Bought it. It's only 4€. Apparently it's an interactive storybook with mini games. It's by a Monument Valley deveper so I'm sure it plays well.

 

Defo stick with it. I felt a little disappointed at first but the combat expands so much that it becomes really enjoyable and the story unfolds into a much more immersive way because of stuff that's unlocked.

 

Yeah I’m like 12 hours into SP:FbW, and the combat is surprisingly robust. Not like X-Com, or AoE tactical though really fun. Some of the jokes have landed. Others are annoying. Overall it’s on par with TSoT for me. Though noting tops that FF joke level in the last game haha.

 

At first I couldn’t stand the combat in Fractured, but that hinderance quickly passed and now it’s my preferred combat between the two games

 

Beat TEW2.


Loved the gameplay, and level design. The final boss was super easy, and dialogue was really meh throughout. 8/10

 

I'm gonna continue playing it in first person soon.

 

I somehow missed Starbound was coming to Xbox. That is very exciting and day one buy for me...

 

I finished it. It is one of the best video games ever made. I'm not kidding.

For now: it'll cost you 4€ and maybe 45 minutes of your time. Buy it and play it or you're missing out on something truly special.

 

Florence "Review"

Florence (out on iOS, Android coming soon) is a narrative-driven game that you interact with through a variety of touchscreen mini games that are reminiscent of some of the DS' most conceptually successful touchscreen games like Feel the Magic: XY/XX (Project Rub in Europe) and Wario Ware: Touched!. Polygon calls it "a tearjerking Wario Ware", which isn't far off.

Some of you know me as the guy that likes to dunk on video game stories as a whole, so you might be surprised when I say that Florence has a very well told, relatable, touching story. Florence tells its story almost completely without words however. Instead, the story is being conveyed through the beautiful animated illustrations, the great (and occasionally interactive) soundtrack and - and this is the key - the continiously changing gameplay. It's very effective and it sets the game apart from many other narrative-driven games. I'll give you an example, but due the nature of this game it's a very light spoiler (I recommend you read it anyway though, plus parts of it are even in the trailer so it's fine): At some point in the game, the protagonist, Florence, goes on a first date. You progress through the date by putting together small jigsaw puzzles that, once completed, transform into text-free speech bubbles. The further you progress though the date, the easier the puzzles become, which likely is meant to convey that Florence is feeling increasingly comfortable talking to her date.

It costs less than 4€ (or, I assume, 4$) and it's roughly 45 minutes long. Like I said yesterday, it's one of the best games I have ever played (if you rate games on a scale of purpose, intent and execution - directly comparing a game like this to Mario 64 is redundant) and I'm not someone that throws that around lightly.

 

Finally bought PUBG, played 4 matches yesterday and got 3 kills!

 

This popped up in my on this day, so I can't rob you guys of it.

 

Just won in Fortnite duos with my mate. Possibly the pinnacle of my gaming career.

So after 10 or so matches in PUBG with my brothers, I get it. This is some of the most fun I have ever had in MP.
