i mean home is pretty much solely in the pop punk/emo wheelhouse, goodness appeals to others more in indie rock while being less appealing to the pop punk kids so

Goodness is def more accessible than home imo. Also wtf I will not stand for slander of the coordinate interludes

    I'll change this eventually Prestigious

Absolutely. Home is heavier, it's got more of that punk/emo edge, which is very appealing to me.

I'm cool with a band forgoing that to go more indie/straight-forward (Pianos going from TLLA to Keep You is the perfect example), but Goodness just doesn't quite strike the same nerve.

I'm anti-interlude in general. Intros/outros are fine. But interludes, skits, etc, get that filler out of my face.

depends on your definition of accessible. home appeals to more people in a more limited group while goodness has broader appeal but more restrictive within

This is probably heresy, but I have a playlist when I listen to Goodness that starts at Goodness Pt. 2 and skips all the interludes.

I don't think a comparison to Goodness is apt in any way really. Even the vibes to me are totally different, and I think each seeks to achieve totally different ends. I hesitate to simplify either as just like, more optimistic follow-ups. The leap from Home to Goodness is a lot greater artistically, and I actually feel like KY is more comparable to Goodness bc of that, but even then I wouldn't necessarily commit to comparisons either.

this thread sure is full of a bunch of odd comparisons between bands that have very few similarities other than being some people's favorites

I really don't have any idea of what it really compares to, honestly. There's no "yeah, it sounds a lot like ___".

I honestly get some Staind vibes from some of these songs

i think both set up the following tracks really well personally~
yeah, i would agree, and that broader appeal makes goodness more accessible imo

I like both Home and Goodness, but I feel like Home is more memorable. When I'm 50, I think I'm more likely to remember Home than I am Goodness, due to the impact that record had on me.

Yes? Don't get me wrong, I think Goodness is a really good album, but Wait For Love hasn't reminded of it. I'm absolutely loving this album though.
