Pretty sure this whole new single/album is just a coordinated marketing ploy between Brand New and Jason to get more people to sign up for the supporter forum haha

 

okay, i sorta forgot about this thread (there were like 25+ unread pages, haha) but i'd be remiss if i didn't at least set one foot on the Brand New Hype Train Station™

 

Song clip doesn't sound particularly great, but it's only a 30 second clip. It'd be hilarious if after all these years, Brand New actually puts out a sub-par album.

They already did release a sub-par album. It's called Your Favorite Weapon.

 

Yeah, I'll agree with that. I only ever listen to a handful of the tracks on YFW anymore.

 

I hate Daisy. Tried so hard to get into it and I just can't. I'd rather listen to YFW on repeat all day than one track off Daisy one time. It's that bad for me.

 

I can't believe this happened while I was asleep...I mean for goodness sake I was sat outside in the sun just listening to TDAG worrying about an album just dropping, I go inside to check and BAM, I've missed all this! Damn...So so excited and nervous. And lame, I know.

 

I'll admit, a part of this exchange yesterday was bumming me out and making me question if I was full on being made fun of for having fun on an Internet forum.

That feeling of walking into a room of people talking about you, but they stop and you only catch a word or two that makes you think they were making fun of you.

I'll limit my presence on here from now on, because I can see my excitement about it all paints me as some obsessive groupie, and my posts making "eyes roll" shows me that things I say in jest are interpreted literally.

Was I worried I'd miss something yesterday? A bit, but not as much as my posts conveyed.

I don't know what I intend with this post, except that at least there is actually something happening. So "crazy Kevin" doesn't seem as super crazy.

Edit: Saying "bumming me out" is not an intended reference to the new song. Funny though.

 

What, no! Don't make unnecessary excuses, you're not 'crazy Kevin' for being excited about something we've all wanted for years...I full on obsess and freak out over every detail they release on this album. Being passionate about something isn't a crime.

No mate quite the opposite! If anyone's signed up to this forum and is posting here they have to be big fans of the band, and you seemed to be the only one who was staying positive and hopeful about them announcing something. I'd basically all but given up hope, and if anything was in awe of your optimistic and die hard approach to it.

100% sure I can speak for everyone that no one was taking the piss or intended it to be taken that way :)

Yea I guess that makes sense. My point wasn't to say you were wrong for saying it was bad it was more or less questioning the fact that nothing about it reminded you of brand new.
