No buildup, no announcement, nothing. So Brand New. Hahaha

I suspect the band didn't plan for the news to drop like this.

Was this worth getting into a mini fight with my gf. Well she needs to understand that when you've been anticipating something for this long I don't see anything wrong with getting excited and obsessed over it.

 

It just doesn't really make sense. Any of it. Jeese's voice is the only thing that resembled Brand New about this.

exactly. It's not like they thought their big announcement would be via amazon pre-order lol I'm sure they have/had something planned and I do feel bad that it probably got ruined but this 30 second clip makes that kind of go out of my head....

 

At least in the case of Mene, we had heard it live first.

 

God this sounds so good. Hearing relatively upbeat, melodic Brand New is welcome, in my book, but I also don't expect them to reinvent the wheel or anything which means I probably have lower expectations than most, ha.

Honestly yes. taking Brand New out of it, I hate when you're excited about something and a SO rains on your parade. It's like the worst feeling, you just want someone to get excited for/with you.

 

okay yeah - i get ya... it sounds demos era-esque to me, but yeah from that 30 seconds its definitly the least... hmmm... least melancholy (or dark) brand new we've heard in a long time?

My wife likes Brand New okay, but not really into them like I am.

So she's asleep beside me when this all starts to go down. I tell her what's happening, but she's just, "That's neat" *rolls over and back to sleep*.

 

My girlfriend likes them mildly as well, she did get a kick out of everyone bugging out though lol

My girlfriend doesn't know who Brand New are but she loves "You Won't Know" from the few times I've put it on when we're listening to stuff.

 

Haha I'm fortunate in that my wife loves them, it's one of the reasons we started dating
