On my first listen I liked it a lot. More little things stood out to me right away than on Keep You. I’m gonna limit my listens until I have lyrics but I was very pleased and expect this to compete with KY in the long run.

 

So charisma should be about him coming around to being a dad, yea? What do we make of the specific line “I love the new painted charisma?” Referring to himself or his wife?

 

I didn't immediately love keep you. It took months and going through lived experiences with it for it to mean as much to me as it does. Same with TLLA. I can't wait to spend the rest of my year with this attributing whatever lies in store with this album. Pianos albums aren't as instantly gratifying as some of their peers but they stick with you and grow with you

Yeah I don’t spend as much time in there lately for some reason. I think it moves too fast sometimes for me. Also I’ve been on Chorus in general quite a bit less lately for some reason

 

I think it’s gonna take a few listens for me to draw my focus toward anything other than drums on this record.

out of all the post hardcore/indie bands to come out of this scene that have some thursday influence to them, i think pianos and touche are the ones who really strike me as bands who are as incredible at sort of keeping what they did going, but twisting it so it's still unique to their identities. love this so far

I also find it mad people are so taken by the drumming, as if surprised. PBTT drumming has always been ace going back to Old Pride.

I mean, yeah, their drummer has always been great but they seem even busier and mixed louder than usual.

 

I disagree about mixed louder but busier for sure.. whats awesome tho is the guitars give the drums space. they play like these super sustained chords and the drums drive the rhythm over them, its really cool and makes for an interesting soundscape I think they appear louder bc the guitars are doing way less.

 

blake beats would say this drummer is totally replaceable tho
