It's always fascinating with how good comedians can surgically dissect the humor in almost anything.

Jerry Seinfeld on Raisin Bran, for example. This was a completely improv conversation on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

"You ever notice how Raisin Bran is always advertising more scoops of raisins?

At first, it was ONE more scoop per box.
Then, it was TWO more scoops per box.

What are you trying to sell? Don't you get it?

This isn't about the raisins, we don't like your cereal!"

Observation -> truth -> paradox (humor point) -> punchline. They just mentally complete the process so quickly, I'll never not be jealous of that.

 

I guess the teachable moment is you can't believe everything you read on the internet

Pssshhhh, that's BS, with the amount of comedy he watches it's impossible for some jokes not to bleed into conversation. I'm not saying it's an exclusive dominating thing at all, but every comedian does it here and there.

I'd wager @Kingjohn_654's ratio of original jokes to ones directly inspired by others are about 80/20. John?

As a massive fan of the books, nothing excited me more than a live adaptation. I was screening this movie for work and I left this shit to go have *** lol. That’s how terrible it was.

As someone who used to work at a grocery store...it hurts no one lol. In fact, I used to steal from the grocery store I worked at lol. Not a lot, just little things you shouldn’t have to pay for, like floss. Or sometimes I would order food from the hot food department and then just go eat it in the cafe and not pay lol
