Makes me think of Channing Tatum in Jupiter Ascending.

I wanna give a shout out to the dude that plays the Sparrow. His acting and delivery during his monologues is pretty spectacular. Would be a supporting-actor nom shoe in if he were a more notable character.

So if the Targaryens having dragon's blood is just an expression, what makes them resistant to fire? Also, if they ARE resistant to fire, how did Dany's brother die from being scalded to death by molten gold?

Is he main cast? Thought he was guest. If he's guest he should be a safe pick for guest nom.

What about the other theory that Jaquen is actually the guy who taught Arya to "dance" in the first season? I've seen that one floating around.

  6. GRRM has said that Targaryens themselves have no natural or inherent resistance to fire. Being Unburnt is a trait specific to Dany only, as far as we know. Therefore Viserys' punk-ass met the same fate as anyone else in his family likely would've under those same circumstances. Additionally, if things do change and the show writers decide to make Targaryens fire-resistant, then it could easily be explained that Viserys suffocated to death in that mask, instead of burned/melted/whatever happens to a human head encased in liquid gold.

I hope they don't make that change and it's just Dany being the exception. I guess it wouldn't be a big deal to gloss over Dunk and Egg and Summerhall despite it being a pretty good example of a failed dragon egg hatching attempt.

I don't know if the suffocation thing holds weight because he died almost instantly. I wonder what makes Dany special in that regard/what are the circumstances that make her unburnt....

Lol no offense to you but this is the dumbest theory I've ever heard about the series. Howland is well accounted for in both the show and the books.

Haha hey now I'm just relaying what I've read around the internets.

They are not resistant to fire. Dany is entirely unique in the shows history and is only immune to fire during the birth of her dragons in the books.

True, but is it known why she's unique in that regard, and why is she unburnt throughout the show (like in last night's episode)?

A majority of the theories surrounding the books/show are pretty bad, but I guess that's what happens when people run out of things to talk about re: books that are on e 5-6 year cycle now. Like this Howland one hinges on two characters being kind of short and not wearing shoes, ignoring age, geographical location, motive, or just common sense. But I guess they must be the same dude...

Magic. Same way she hatched the first dragons in 150 years. It's inexplicable by rational means so you may as well not even try to.

So because...magic? What was the magic exactly that hatched the dragons and made her resistant to fire? Does it have to do with the sorceress/witch who put a curse on her S1? Maybe I'm just over thinking this.

I mean, why is there a guy attached to a tree? At a certain point, there's a regression to a point where magic is the only viable answer.

I've always liked that theory that Jaquen is Sirio(sp?)

Yea, well isn't it completely possible that Sirio was wearing one of those masks, or Jaquen could even be wearing a mask? That shit is confusing haha.

A story with dragons, resurrection, shadow monsters, and ice zombies and "magic" isn't an accepted answer? Uhhh...

Out of all things in this show, the white walkers and the wall itself are the two biggest things that don't fit with reality. I'd accept dragons over ice zombies and an ice wall anyday of the week.

But do we even know if it is magic? And where did the magic originate from if so? Saying it's magic is just a total guess. Holds up as well as saying Jon killed a white walker because his sword was blessed with white walker-repellant via a Red Priest/Priestess. We know that it's actually because it was forged with Dragon's fire. Therein lies my point - we don't know how magic is used in GOT, but we're usually given a bit of context and know how, when and why it is used. Is there evidence in the show that Dany's unburnt ability is because magic? All I remember is they said she has dragon's blood, but what does that even mean? And the TER being in one spot so long that tree roots grow through him is obviously peculiar, but we know much less about the him than Dany. He's supposed to be mysterious. We don't even know if he's human.

Valyrian steel isn't, as far as I'm aware, confirmed to be forged with dragon fire. Last I checked it's secrets were lost with the doom because it was forged with...spells, supposedly. So. Not quite on the mark there.

I've said it in this thread before, but CleganeBowl is the one theory I truly feel invested in and completely back. I will be so goddamn hype if that comes true hahaha

The three eyed raven is human in the books and we actually even know exactly which human he is, he was a Targaryen.

Have no reason to believe it won't happen. They talked about the trial by combat then go to Arya talking about the Hound on her list...so it's obvious it will happen this season I'm certain.
