I'm staying at my dad's this week to watch my two 16 year old sisters while my dad and stepmom are out of town. My sis has her bf over and they're downstairs alone. It's pretty quiet. I want to go down there to ~investigate but idk how to do it non-awkwardly

I would generally bust in making as much noise as I can, but I also had no respect for my sibling's privacy. You either silently peek (probably difficult to do if they are on alert), walk down like no big thing, or wonder forever.

 

Definitely just walk in like it's nbd

 

Just walk in and if there is a lot of movement then they are definitely up to some hanky-panky. @Kiana

I went with the awkward "is my computer bag in here?" which was valid cause I needed my laptop charger. But then I realized my laptop bag was upstairs so then it really seemed like I was making excuses to be down there. So I just ran with it and was like "...dad said the door needs to be all the way open..." and I slowly opened the door wider and left lmao. They're watching Freddy Vs Jason and he was using the bathroom so thankfully I didn't walk in on any awkwardness tbh!

the redesign in general is placing a heavier emphasis on the news. not seeing the reviews when the site loads at all is kinda a big deal for a site that places so much empasis on their critical voice and importance

 

I've never walked in on anyone but once I was up at 3am and I noticed my lil sis wasn't anywhere in the house. I looked all over for her and couldn't find her and she didn't answer her phone so I woke my dad up. She came inside like 30 minutes later covered in hickeys and dirt and grass with her hair all askew and said she'd fallen asleep on the gravel road nearby LOL.

The sheer audacity of using the phrase appropriating nerd culture is dumbfounding.

 

nerd culture is mainstream culture and has been for like literal decades now.

 

Walked in on a few people in HS during parties, that's about it though.

 

A friend of mine just walked a marathon. I didn't realize that's a thing people do.

 

I think my mom intentionally doesn't walk in on me. My girlfriend and I hang out in my room with the door closed and have with any girlfriend ever since I was 16 and not once has she even tried coming in when they are over. Coincidentally, I've never had "the talk".

I just spent like $100 on stuff for the home. It was all good deals but spending money stresses me out.

On a related note I'll probably make a home decor/living spaces that later, should be fun
