Was Smackdown any good last night? I just watched Super Bowl clips and highlights for 7 hour last night

 

KO/Sami was good. Rusev/Roode wasn't bad either

 

Damn. Im guessing Roode went over if it only wasnt bad

PWInsider is saying Vince stepped down from overseeing 205 Live two weeks ago and HHH is in charge of it completely now

 

RAW was bad because what its setting up is boring. But at least I can see the countours of a half dozen potential WM matches.

Smackdown was mediocre because it didnt really set up anything. Every feud appears to be filler (Charlotte v Riot Squad, Roode v Rusev, even Sami/KO) and aside from Nak/AJ, we dont have a single WM match from the Smackdown brand

 

this makes sense, the last two weeks have felt more like an extension of nxt than previous 205 between the improved match quality and use of non-205 Live talent like roddy and bate.

 

I'm still pretty surprised Hideo lost in the first round. Maybe it's setting up a storyline or something

 

I was thinking heel turn. But to be fair I think that about most losses ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

sounds like Roderick might be a part of the divison going forward, so having him win (and probably go over Kalisto before losing to Cedric) is a solid way to debut him.

At this point, Im assuming Itami is more likely to be future endeavored come April/May than anything

 

Probably. So disappointing seeing Hideo do nothing in WWE

 

With the news that HHH is running the brand, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see Roddy win the whole thing

Not a chance. He has his hands ALL over the main shows still.

 

So is Roddy done with NXT?

It kinda sucks he never got his mountaintop moment, but at the same time there are like a half dozen guys I'd rather see win the NXT championship before him so maybe its for the best he does his thing in 205 live.

 

I imagine he'll step back some to focus on the new XFL as it draws nearer. Wouldnt surprise me if the new TV deal sees him transitioning control as well (especially if its not with USA/NBC). HHH clearly has a vision for the future, and they've given Ryan Ward booking for the MMC, which seems like Vince seeing what options exist

 

Hmm idk, Vince has made it seem like he is going to hire people to do most of the XFL stuff, in his press conference he said it's the last time we will see his face with anything having to do with XFL. Can totally be a lie though.

 

what do you guys think about if the WWE/Raw was moved to Fox. Raw on network fox and Smackdown on FS1. Do you think it would be interesting as the product would have a fresh new look and most likely few things would be different (or not)? Also raw being 2 hours? Or do you worry that the product will get even MORE safe and stale on network tv..and all the leeways that was allowed by USA over the years, wont be there (or maybe they will have more leeway)

 

Think WWE on Fox would suck so they probably will.
