Whyyyy clear vinyl though hopefully there is a standard black too, I've yet to buy a clear vinyl that sounds good at all.

Hey, my copy of Clarity by Jimmy Eat World is on clear and it’s probably one of the five best sounding records in my collection.

 

Hmm I have Strange Desire (Bleachers), Sound and Color (Alabama Shakes), Black Mile to the Surface (Manchester Orchestra - partly clear, partly translucent black). All 3 have a lot of static and sound pretty unclear. I want to say there's a couple other too. If it's colored and clear, it doesn't seem to be a problem, but just plain clear I can't do.

 

I think I have two or three others and I can't recall any of them sounding bad. I have another one that's the last Turnpike Troubadours LP on clear at 45 RPM and that's the best-sounding record I bought last year. I tend to have more issues with colored vinyl, actually.

 

Very strange. I know I'm not alone in having issues with clear. And yea any kind of colored vinyl can be iffy but normally overall fine, but I was specifically saying colored clear (like translucent orange or whatever color) usually sounds better compared to just the normal clear. Maybe it has to do with our turntables/needles or something, or the quality of the records themselves. It's interesting we have such opposite exprriences.

 

I'm assuming Mother and Space Cowboy aren't Danzig and Steve Miller covers unfortunately

 

Straight clear records in general should sound better than other colors. Of course mastering matters too

 

Well y'all are bumming me out maybe I need to call up my buds Jack Antonoff and Brittany Howard and ask what gives with their vinyl pressings.

Maybe, but then that also confirms that I do not want to buy Kacey's clear vinyl.
