By signing up to be a cop you are signing up to continue to perpetuate an institution of oppression, and are a bastard for doing so. If you do not want that institution of oppression to continue, you pick a different career that isn’t built on the killing of marginalized people. It isn’t that hard to understand.

Their relation to you does or does not absolve them or their participation in oppression.

 

Because he was a cop and I still have family who are cops who don’t fall into this category of bastards you are referring to. Grouping people into one category because of the majority is wrong. 90% of cops are bastards I’m sure but there’s no way anyone can say 100% of cops are bastards. It’s just ignorance at that point.

Yeah I’ll go ahead and say anyone who voted for Trump is a racist cause they voted for an uberracist to be President. Like, Trump has been enthusiastically and loudly pro racist as long as anyone has known who he is. Regardless of my cop opinions and how they differ from most people in here I did not vote for Trump for the record.

I'm just joking... I appreciate and enjoy Blink 182 despite their musical shortcommings and limits.

Here is why I can't be steaming angry at Matt, Brandon is a good example of this. I can see the points they're trying to make in the way they present them as privileged naivety. It's not impossible to correct but it's damn frustrating. Or maybe because I've come to expect this from most white ppl my standards and empathy at the naivety are depressingly low.
