Oh no.

I think this is a life insurance scam

 

I guess I'm not going. Ugh

 

I feel like I have no time to do anything anymore and I'm getting more stressed out each day

I know things will settle down soon but I feel like I haven't had a chance to just unwind in two weeks

 

I hope you get chill time soon, I know how important that is

Last week was the service and funeral for my step-dad's dad, and I was relied on to keep everyone in good spirits and help out there. Which obviously isn't a problem, but it's exhausting. Between that, missing a week of work for it, moving into a new house and trying to get that set up, and then just dealing with finances, everything has been stressing me out

 

I have a little bit of pain but it's a lot better. I appreciate you asking

 

I hope things slow down for you soon. that's a lot for one person to handle. I'm here if you ever need to vent

 

Damn yeah that's definitely alot for one person to handle so I feel for you. Hopefully now that all that's over with things will calm down for you man. I'm always here if you need anything

I got an email Saturday in response to a job posting I applied for. Here's the ad. As you can see it's very vague and advertises pretty high pay



The email I got was from "The Washington Agency", and said I'd be helping members of labor unions and credit unions with their benefits, answering questions and things like that. It didn't say anything about sales or life insurance

So I agreed to come into the interview today.

This morning I looked them up and was able to figure out they are an agency for American Income Life Insurance Company. I had looked into them before and found that it's basically a multi level marketing scheme where you are selling life insurance and your income is entirely commission based. A manager will get a cut of all your sales. I'm a lot of cases they make you pay for any training or licenses you need.

So basically fuck em

It's a very important skill to be able to tell when something is sketchy because there's so much of that out there

Yeah luckily I had heard of them before and once I looked up the agency name and saw it was that company I was out

Yeah I look at most job postings as potentially fishy

I've also been approached about this kind of thing before. I've had people come up to me in the grocery store on more than one occasion trying to get me to work under them for Primerica or Herbalife or whatever
