She wasn't casually allowed to go. Jorah knew the area, he's been there, they just had to make it to the dosh. Then they staked it out until she came outside? Also, they informed her trying to escape was a bad idea before she was allowed to go pee, and she stated she wasn't running. So, I don't see that criticism.

This season is 4/4 for me. I love this show. I fully expected to be let down by Dany's parts this episode but they did not drag it out. At one point they had a widescreen shot of her standing between the fire pillars with a lot of the roof showing behind her, and I really fully expected her dragon to come bursting through. What happened instead, was even better.

Littlefinger is such a little fucker. I still hate him.

  2. So Dany has her army, iron islands end up sailing over and she gets ships too? Or will the sheer size of the horde intimidate the masters?

Glad there was no focus on Dorne this episode. The Dorne plot has been so disappointing. A total waste now that characters who were set up to be about enacting justice for Oberyn's are almost like villains now for some reason (as was brought up ITT, if they cared about him why the fuck would they kill his family? Morons). The only way I can imagine it being resolved is maybe a showdown between The Sand Snakes and...Cersei? The Mountain? It's just a sentient corpse now. Oberyn technically killed him I guess? And they killed Cersei's child in the end, so they are even? Kinda don't know how to feel about that thread of story haha.

Ramsay being Ramsay. Motherfucker. He almost makes you feel a bit of sympathy for Joffrey at this point. At least he was just a child. Ramsay is just cartoonishly evil. Was he so depthless in the books? I Remember Martin saying no characters in his books are pure evil, but...

The dialogue between Jorah and Daario was great. This is probably on me, but I still feel weird when Daario is on screen though. He's a great character but they recast a guy who looks totally different and it takes me out of the experience slightly. Wish Michiel portrayed him from the start, but given he's only one of around four jarring recasts in a show with this many characters (The Mountain was another - he looked way more slender in season 2) is kinda miraculous.

I'm ready for The Sparrows to fuck off now. High Sparrow claims to be so humble all the time but is such a judgmental, pious old shit. Have no idea how he'll get smoked though, if he does at all.

Man, Brienne knows how to make an impression, hahaha.

The John and Sansa reunion is the heart of the last dozen or so episodes. Powerful stuff.

Really anticipating and TBH kinda dreading the showdown between Ramsay and TNW. It will be thrilling to witness no doubt, though.

I think that definitely adds to Littlefinger's stance in the show, no one can ever tell what his real motive is. The only thing I have been sure of about him, is that he is 100% manipulating everyone he comes across to better himself, and the only thing he really wants is Cat's daughter. I don't believe he expected things with Sansa to go as they did, he thought Roose would still be in control. Now, he's only thinking of how to get the Bolton's defeated so he can somehow find a way to take Sansa. And he'll put everyone he can at odds with them until he gets it, or dies believing he's safer than he is.

Also, can someone tell me with it spoiler tagged, did Jorah catch greyscale in the books? and has he died? He's the only character that feels like he has 100% good intentions and loyalty besides Dany/the Starks, and has been a favorite of mine since the beginning. It seems pointless, but I have hopes there is a solution to his health he doesn't know about. I don't wanna see another good person die ;(

Loved everything at the Wall. Jon and Sansa reuniting was so emotional, and made me so happy. I know they didn't interact at all when we saw them in S1, but just the idea of two House Stark children coming together for the first time since they all separated in Season 1 was so awesome. The Pink Letter was a nice touch. Major LOL at Tormund giving Brienne the eyes. What a match that would make haha. Love Sansa being the one talking Jon into it, she's determined to take what is hers. ALso, I think Jon already told her everything that happened, since he said "I can't stay here after everything that's happened". I'm assuming she knows what the everything is. Brienne telling Davos and Mel she finished off Stannis, and looking at Mel like she wanted to kill her right then and there...awesome.

Fucking Ramsay ugh. So bummed that's all we got of Osha before she was taken from us. Knew it was coming when she was eyeing up that knife though. Ugggggggggggh. Rickon is fucked.

Kings Landing was interesting. Did not expect to see Kevan and Lady Olenna reconcile that quickly with Cersei and Jaime. They'd be an interesting power dynamic against the sparrows and the Faith Militant if they can hold it together. Loras is fucked. I feel like he's going to ask for a trial by combat and commit suicide by combat. Dude seems to not want to live anymore. Not really sure what's going on with Tommen.

Loved seeing the tension between Tyrion and Mes/Grey Worm. Love that they are pushing back against him and his decisions.

Dany was badass. Took out all the Kahl's and united the Dothraki under her. Love that she was the one with the plan, and didn't simply get 'rescued' by Jorah and Daario (or Drogon, though i was pretty convinced that's what was going to happen)

Poor Theon. I really do feel bad for him at this point. I'm glad Yara is at least accepting him back. Kingsmoot should be interesting.

Littlefucker, don't threaten my man Yohn Royce. Robin's still a piece of shit I see, and a useless one at that. I don't know why Littlefinger had to go through that charade though, unless he thought Royce was going to really challenge him over the Sansa stuff hard.

Also, it's just genuinely hard to believe Rickon isn't dead. There is zero logical reason for him to be alive.

I really don't think his motivations are as simple as that. He's still power hungry and Sansa represents a powerful piece towards helping him obtain power. There is also a bit of desire to "do right by Cat" mixed in with the whole creepy sexual attraction. But that is what makes him interesting. You clearly know he is planning something, but it isn't clear what he is planning or even what he final goal is.

Littlefinger has expressed his desire to be on the Iron Throne at any cost. Wouldn't be surprised at all if his hope is to get Sansa in control of Winterfell, convince her to raise the North again in rebellion, combine their forces+any Riverland lords still loyal to the Starks, and take the war to the Lannisters and Tyrells that he knows are too caught up in their own fight with the Faith Militant.

  10. The good: Jon and Sansa!

The bad: rehashing Dany storylines, the much-anticipated return of everyone's favorite character: Sweetrobin!

The ugly: the show continuing to bludgeon us over the head with cartoon Ramsay

So does Sansa know Jon died?

And how the hell did Davos not know what happened to Stannis & co/never asked before now?

No he doesn't. It happens to a character named Jon Connington while he saves Tyrion in similar fashion.

Ramsay keeping him hostage to bait Jon explained it to me but otherwise yeah I didn't get it. He's just a threat to ramsays claim. Maybe he is actually dead and ramsays lying. Who knows

I was really bummed at first that they axed Osha like that. But the more I thought about it they more I realized any reason they could come up with where Ramsay didn't immediately kill her would have been a stretch.

  16. I feel like that's a bit of an over-simplification. I mean, the dude did completely rid himself of his wealth, comfort, and pleasures in a near-immediate fashion following his "awakening". From then on out he (presumably) abandoned his family and friends to dedicate his life to the faith. Sounds like a pretty strong commitment to repentance, if you ask me.

From what I got it seems like that was gone over between them.

Also I was really surprised when Tormund said they had 2000 men that could fight, did not expect that many.

  19. Oh I know, and I definitely laughed when I first read it! But it still opens up a channel of discussion about the HS worth bringing up. Someone earlier mentioned how cocky and high-and-mighty the HS seemed to them, yet I disagree. I think the joke you mentioned does ring true to many who, in my opinion, misunderstand a lot about the HS. Even though I hate him and cannot wait to watch him die I don't think he's overly judgmental or anything... I think he's just very assured and confident in the faith. I think it comes off in a way that is very much misunderstood to the people in the show and the people watching the show, but the scene with Marg helped me to really understand a lot of it: he's not just a crazy religious person, he's a crazy "born-again" religious person who's zealous motives are in part a product of his own guilt. That makes him a lot more interesting to me.

so dany could reasonably rule pretty much all of essos and westeros by series' end huh lol

    I'm Back.

Weird how the show is moving along at a rapid pace now that there isn't book material to follow...but then again Martin PROBABLY let the show runners know some details he plans on incorporating into the books.

Also, didn't Martin specifically say that the immunity to fire was a one time shot and only had to do with the birth of the dragons?

People are saying Sansa and Jon are going to get together. But, I think it is more likely that Jon and Dany will be together, either romantically or tactically.

Well, we've seen Dany get into scalding hot water before in season 1, so at least to some extent she seems to be okay with the heat/resistant to burns. Maybe when it comes to fire itself it's when she's feeling especially bossed up or something?

Bran is the biggest GoT wildcard, I think. Isn't there a pretty big fan theory that he, not Jon, is Azor Ahai (spelling this wrong from memory)?

I also don't think Dany will accomplish anything in Westeros without Tyrion doing more politicking than her doing more brute force tactics. Granted, Sansa ruling in Winterfell and not actively hating Tyrion could help that along especially if Jon is like "her dragons against the White Walkers..."

Which also makes me think: if Tyrion re-appears in Westeros, is he still married to Sansa? Would that weaken Ramsay's claim by marriage at all?
