RedCafe is my favourite football forum to read. There's a great mix of rationality and insanity. You get to read through articulate, well-informed opinions and then you can read topics such as "we'll never win the league with DDG"

The flip-flopping on Ozil was a particular highlight.

  2. Mahrez refusing the train with Leicester.

Crazy they didn’t sell him for that ridiculous fee City was offering.

Glad they didn't. Scummy move to come in on the last day when a team doesn't want to sell if they aren't prepared to pay the money wanted. If he's refusing to train let him sit on his arse and fine him.

If Arsenal don't have a chant for Aubameyang that's basically Black Betty they are confirmed worst club ever.

have to wonder what someone is hoping to achieve by refusing to train in february when the window is closed

maybe a guarantee that they'll sell him in the summer

  7. He’s been wanting out since the summer window. They could’ve sold him and bought a replacement by now.

I usually side with the "smaller" clubs trying to hold on to their stars - but here I agree. Mahrez has wanted to leave for a while, and has acted fairly professionally and put in some really good performances for them recently, and 65 million seems like a more than fair price. I can understand City's late interest being a stumbling block, but they should have been prepared for his exit by getting someone else in by now.

Nobody was seemingly in for him this window until City at the last moment, which didn't put Leicester in much of a position to replace him. The summer is a better time to buy anyway.

A fair price for us, or City, does not equal a fair price for Leicester. He's "wanted out" sure, but if no one wants to pay the money for him he's there, no one wants to pay the money.

I'm not going to walk into a shop and see a jacket and tell the manager I want to pay €20 when it's priced at €60. Simply put, if City cared about getting him, they would have paid the money. They have unlimited funds, why wouldn't they? If they wanted him since last Summer as Pep said, why would they wait until the last day of the window to try for him? Signing players in Jan means paying over the odds. Signing players on the last day of the window with little to no possibility of getting a replacement means paying way over the odds. City thought they could strong arm Leicester, leak they want him, he wants them and try to make Leicester buckle and sell under what they wanted. Leicester rightly told the to fuck off.

Ederson has been City's best signing recently.

How did Sterling miss that chance?

Why did City only field 6 subs? Some weird sympathy angle "poor us because one player got injured and we couldn't replace him with Mahrez"? More like feck youth players.

Absolutely flattened him, no attempt to win the ball. Linesman on that side is having a nightmare so far.

It's ridiculous from the referee, he'd be sent off if that happened in the Wales / Scotland rugby game going on now.

This is a referee that gave a goal for the ball crossing the end line in a Reading match once. Glad to see that's made he worthy of premier league work.

McTominay got fucking leveled. Might not see a bigger hit in tomorrow's super bowl.

They're leaving a foot in or going in too hard in every challenge on McTominay too, can tell it's an instruction for the team to try and intimidate him.

Hesitant to say Sanchez has instantly changed our team, but bloody hell he draws so many fouls in the opposition third. That's something we've desperately lacked in comparison to the other top teams.
