I did purposely bring up the Maladroit thing just because I know it gets a rise out of people here.

 

That one particular song is purposefully made that way, and I get if it's not your jam. The rest of the album doesn't have any production issues though

 

No I know it sounds that way on purpose, but I still don’t think it was done well.

 

There are good songs on Raditude and Hurley. I was actually jamming some Rad last night. There are some lowblows on there but some super memorable songs IMO

 

Hell yes. I still love Pacific Daydream. Excited to hear even more weird stuff on this new one.

 

Right behind Green album for me.

 

I think Maladroit is great. Raditude and Make Believe are tied for their worst for me. I think Hurley is mostly pretty good but has one of their worst songs ever on it.

Pinkerton is the GOAT, narrowly trailed by Blue.

Glad they said the Black Album was meant to be the proper follow up to White and that Pacific Daydream kind of just came together so they pushed that out first

 

Hurley was fine other than Where's My Sex? The whole story behind that song bothered me. Supposedly, Rivers' daughter called socks "sex" and that inside joke was how the song came to be. Honestly, if the song was Where's My Socks it wouldn't be as bad. Listen to it again and change the lyrics to socks in your head and it becomes one of their not great but not bad quirky songs.

I don't hate Raditude as much as everyone else either. Other than Love is the Answer and In the Mall, those 2 songs are awful, it's an ok album.

I have to say Pacific Daydream and Make Believe are their worst.

 

I’m a fan of Pacifc Daydream. 5th favorite overall

 

I don't think they have a single album which doesn't have a song I love on it which is a rare thing for bands, yeah they also have some bad ones but they're remarkable consistent

 

Pacific Daydream is at least listenable. I don’t ever care to listen to Hurley and Ratitude.

 

Raditude and Make Believe are the worst but as said before, every album as a couple of good songs

 

Yeah even Raditude has that one AAR song on it which isn't bad.

 

Rad ruined so many good songs, or at least squandered their potential. Can’t Stop Partying, Prettiest Girl, and I Don’t Wanna Let You Go were all better on Alone II.

But that might just be my personal preference for Rivers music. I think that he often overthinks his songs trying to perfect that formula he’s always been after. Or at least overproduces the heck out of it, like the Pig demo vs Pig (red). Alone I and II have some of his best music. He should put out solo albums of just him on an acoustic or piano.

 

Will be seriously surprised if a new Weezer album comes out in May.

 

We know Rivers has been working on this album since before he was working on Pacific Daydream, so it's not too crazy

 

That + this band pumps out albums pretty fast + their albums are relatively short

 

All good points. Plus I feel like Pacific Daydream underperformed, so maybe the timing is better than I think!

He says he’s had two folders going. One was Black Album songs and one was “other” which turned into Pacific Daydream. I think this is closer to being done than we think.

 

Blue and White are great. Pinkerton and PD are whatever. Never listened to anything else.

There's literally three songs on there that are good and one that is mediocre and then the rest is aggressively bad
