I didn’t go to a Slaughter Beach, Dog show a few months ago because music didn’t start until like 9:30 or 10 and there were at least four bands. It was such a disappointment.

Yep can’t do Quenchers on a weeknight. I’ve lucked out since both shows I’ve went to have occurred when either I was in school or on a weekend.

Yea I expected it to go late but I thought pkewx3 would be on by like 11:30 at least but nope... lesson learned haha

After Captain We're Sinking didn't go on until ~12 when they played there, I learned my listen. Empty Bottle shows are just as bad too, which is a damn shame because I love going to shows there.

At least I’m saving my hearing for a bit longer. The Flats RF aftershow at Quenchers was the loudest concert I think I’ve ever experienced lol

I skipped it just because I was so exhausted from Riot (Day 2 was definitely the hottest), but I'd love to go to whatever they decide to do next year for it!

I rarely listen to it in my free time, but every live rap set I've ever seen was fun.

In fact, my first show ever was Run DMC in 2000. That was amazing.

Throwback to me sitting on the floor in the back of the Bottom Lounge half asleep trying to make it through Taking Back Sunday's set that Sunday. Aftershows are brutal, especially doing two in a row. I think I was literally asleep at some points, but I got to see Everything Must Go, so it was all worth it.

Yeah, going from Day 1 to New Found Glory/Bayside was really rough. I ended up leaving halfway through NFG's set because all I wanted to do was sleep. Day 3 to Menzingers acoustic though was the best thing ever.

Going to an aftershow every night was pretty awful lol I also missed out on a lot of the nightlife due to it so I'm going to cut down and only try to do 1 this year. This will be my 6th year going though and last year was the first year I did any aftershows so I guess I just made up for it

Yeah, the most I'm doing is two next year, and they'd have to be GREAT ones. Going to try and do bands I won't see at the festival either. I'm mad because had I known NFG and Bayside would be touring nationally nine months later I would've skipped it and did the Dinosaur Jr. / Built to Spill one.

Yea I was very close to leaving TBS, but I also knew that they had been playing Everything Must Go that tour so I figured it may be one of my only chances to see it. It was also a personal thing, because I had seen them three times and never been at the set from start to finish. But this time I was there at the start and finish, but was not mentally there for the middle, so I've seen them like 4 times, but I feel like I've never properly seen them haha
Yea I'll probably just do the pizza party this year unless something really cool happens. (I say that now and then come ticket buying time I'm going to convince myself it won't be that bad.) The worst I've had was Motion City Soundtrack's final show, which was a Sunday aftershow and went until like 2:30/3 and I had work the next day and also had to get back to the suburbs and return to the city in the morning. I got like an hour and a half of sleep that night.

that rolling loud lineup is by far the most stacked of any fest that's been announced imo

also, tickets are only $300??? you're basically paying the price of a mid tier festival to watch nearly every rapper on the radio in one spot

Rap is the most culturally significant genre right now, but I still don't enjoy most of it.

That fest is a good bargain though tbh

I love hip hop, but I’ll pass on any 3 day fest that’s all the same genre
(Yes, I know the genre is diverse but you know what I mean)

Thank you I think I had too much coffee so I've got zingers for days. Can't say it's had a positive effect on my real work, but I mean it's Friday right?
