Probably wouldn’t have checked out The Get Up Kids if not for TWY

 

Get Up Kids/Saves the Day/similar bands were one of the only cool things about having older siblings, i felt "in" on those bands to an extent. then they "grew up" and now go to Nickelback/Godsmack shows.

 

I listened to Left and Leaving because it was referenced on The Upsides and now the Weakerthans are my favorite band.

 

Yeah I was the oldest of my siblings so it was my job to be the musical role model. I like to think I did an ok job haha

 

I know The Get Up Kids from deep diving in the Fall Out Boy Wikipedia page when I was 14 so

 

the first hand me down CDs i ever got were Enema of the State, Color and the Shape, and whatever Marcy Playground CD had "Sex and Candy". i was like 10 or 11 and fucked for life from there

I just had a thought.

What if there are no singles for this album? What if a group of people were set to receive We Look Like Lightning 7”, then in a bit another group will receive another 7”, and then a final group will receive the last 7” a week before the album is released?

Okay, maybe it’s a crazy idea, but damn that would be cool.

 

The second Valencia album is a stunner.
