i did like "Melanie, Video Games, and a Fear of Flying" or w/e. and Noise From Upstairs was awesome.

 

Noise From Upstairs and Dahlia EPs are both cool. I haven't listened in forever

 

Human Highlight Reel compiled those two with a Promise Ring cover and a couple of neat b-sides. probably my fav release of theirs.

Definitely my biggest regret, I think Zac is the worst live vocalist I've ever seen in my life

 

and the electric version of love your friends die laughing which was cool.

haha, same. they did some cool stuff for me tho. i dm'd their drummer on twitter and he let me into Bamboozle the year they played. Justin sent me a free copy of Noise From Upstairs because he saw me post on AP that i was bummed i couldn't make it out to the release shows. Nik got me into some VIP acoustic set i didn't have a pass for at a fest. Zac was a knob but there are good people in that band

 

but yeah Zac is the worst live vocalist of all time

 

They're certainly not a good band, they just had a few good songs that I find myself enjoying more than a lot of other shit I was into back then.

 

i have not once listened to the lyrics in any SYG song and i don't plan on changing that

 

their lyrics are often much better than other pop punk bands from their time, tbh. not a high bar to clear but idk. i will always love them because they were my gateway out of pop punk and into melodic punk

 

Any chance we'll get a new SYG this year? Heard they were writing but that's it.

I've always genuinely wondered how does someone like Zac sing like that and decide to pursue it as a career? How does no one around him be like chillllllll

I had a dream the whole album dropped today and I was so excited to open Spotify this morning

 

I tried listening to Mutiny last year, and it did not hold up for me at all.

 

man i still love it a bunch. haven't spun it since the reunion shows but loved it then.

 

I bought the Dahlia 7” from @ECV on the Asbury boardwalk once

Speaking of younger (relatively) bands that got us into older ones, I never would have listened to Lifetime if I hadn't first been a Saves The Day fan.
