2018 Tom should not produce another note of music.

Mark, Matt, and Travis rent a house to make an album. Tom responds by renting a UFO to make a double-album. You heard it here first.

True. Excellent point lol. I tend to not be as nosy with that stuff and more enjoy the finished product but I get it. I have the deluxe Crimson with all the demos and aside from a couple songs the demos weren't too different besides just sounding rougher.

If Tom's in the house he can just document it Cheetah style. He's more interested in video cameras now anyways lol.

Nah Tom doesn't care about recording music anymore. If he did then it wouldn't have taken him 2 years to rerecord 4 songs with an acoustic guitar and then being too lazy to record the other 6. Or he would have released an actual album when California came out.

I agree with you about demos except when it comes to blink. I have a bunch of demo albums/songs from other bands that I never tend to listen to at all but find myself listening to blinks demos every once and awhile.

Speaking of the Crimson demos, I really wish they would have included the demo of Mercy Me and Sadie instead of acoustic versions. I wonder why that was.

Maybe they just didn't like them lol. I do love the Back To Hell demo with the electronics. Not more than the album version, but it's a cool alternate.

In case anyone was wondering, I've come to realize that Green Day has far, far more of an impact on the high school kids that I teach than blink. Very few even know them, which is weird. The "rock" kids all cite Green Day as their favorite band. Interesting.

  12. Kinda makes sense. Green Day has always been active and in the mainstream, while Blink has become more of a novelty band.

I definitely see way more kids in Green Day shirts in the halls than Blink shirts.

I was never really into Green Day but I think they've always had more credibility than blink. I'm not sure it's ever been "cool" to be a blink fan. (At least not here in England. I assume you guyz are in America.)

  15. I remember people giving me shit for loving Blink when I was in Jr high and high school, after Enema came out. But yeah, it was cooler to like Green Day.

I get it. Green Day has been relevant longer and I think more critically acclaimed, then blink was broken up for 4 years and then, in the first reunion with Tom, barely a band.

I'm just more confused that Green Day, to rock music kids, is now named along with the typical Zeppelin, Floyd and Queen.

Nirvana, Green Day, Queen are the ones I mostly get.

  18. that's crazy. but i guess they sell those bands shirts at walmart and target, so maybe that's why? haha

Yeah I can see Green Day being more popular than blink right now. Like others have said blink had been mostly irrelevant from 2005 to 2016, while Green Day put out American Idiot which was huge and then 4 other studio albums and a live album and got inducted into the HOF before California dropped.

With that being said I don't think Green Day's last album was as popular as California was.

Green Day is more talented. Better live. I just like blink way more lol. I really can't even use love towards Green Day anymore. I think AI is great but I don't feel like I've loved them since Warning which is my favorite GD album.

Really? I feel like we're very similar in age and started to like blink around the same time. I remember junior high and high school blink was definitely more popular and Green Day was basically an afterthought outside of Good Riddance. I remember tons of people from my high school went to the Pop Disaster Tour show and were surprised Green Day was still around since they didn't hear any of their stuff on the radio or TRL anymore.

Yup my stance has always been that. Green Day is definitely more talented and put on a better live show but I just like blink's songs more and would rather go see them live instead because I have more fun at blink concerts. That's not to say I dislike Green Day because I definitely like them a lot and they're in my top 10 bands but I haven't really liked a full album of theirs since 21st Century Breakdown. While I enjoyed their new album I can count on my hand how many times I actually listened to it.

I don't think any of the kids give a shit about who is more talented or puts on better concerts
