On the other hand Talking Heads and Pixies should have a "the" but don't

 

Every time I have mentioned these bands, I say “the” at the beginning and I didn’t realize it wasn’t there until just now

 

Same with Smashing Pumpkins sometimes going by "Smashing Pumpkins" and sometimes going by "The Smashing Pumpkins"

 

"What's your favorite album? Mine is a The Beatles album."

 

Eagles is the clear winner of bands that need "The" but don't have it.

 

The existence or lack thereof of "The" before a band name might be the most pedantic opinion I've ever read on this site

I also have an aversion to “the” and “_ and the _” names but I think Set Your Goals is imo the worst band name to come out of the scene, save for overly/intentionally silly ones. Most of those 3-word-phrase names are lame but that one takes the cake.

 

Ridiculously long band names are what I hate the most. The world is a beautiful place and I am no longer afraid to die, get the fuck outta here with that shit.

 

Empire empire (I was a lonely estate) is easily the worst band name imo, even if they are the best band ever

 

Stubborn Tiny Lights Vs. Clustering Darkness Forever OK? is the worst band name ever and it's not even close.

I saw them open for mewithoutyou and Aaron said something along the lines of "We'd like to thank the opening band, whose name I won't say because if I do we'll be here all night."
