As far as Built This Pool goes, i think it's so ridiculous that it is hilarious. And it will only be 16 seconds, so i don't mind that one at all. Now Brohemian Rhapsody i can't really say much about from only hearing that live recording. However, i do think that the album's real ending song will be seen as "California", and i also think that is the way the band sees it. Brohemian Rhapsody will just be something fun after the album is done, kinda like in Dude Ranch where you can hear a dog drinking Mark's piss after I'm Sorry.

 

I don't like the joke songs, but I'm glad they didn't put 2 real songs in their place. 14 songs is long enough for album these days, let alone 16.

I like my albums to be 10-12 tracks. I don't have the attention span for anything longer lol

 

Well at least on Splinter they were full length songs and full-on bad. I haven't heard Days Gone By. I came into this album not wanting joke songs, but it's only two 15 second songs and I'm not too concerned. And completely in line with who blink has been the majority of their career. It's just Mark being himself.

 

I can't even believe that people are complaining about joke songs on a Blink album. Do you guys know what band you're listening to?

This is the band I love, and I'll gladly take the good with the cringe worthy band.

 

I think it's really telling that they had one song from untitled to before california. For anyone that argued that mark and travis were really into untitled...this kind of goes against that.

 

Worth mentioning that from what I saw, Matt had a lot more energy and was obviously more comfortable being in blink then he was during those first three shows. Definitely doesn't look like a guy just filling in now. Will never not be weird hearing him sing All The Small Things or First Date haha, but definitely can't wait to see them in September.

 

I think you should probably consider the circumstances surrounding those albums.

Considering all of these records came out during a time where there was inner turmoil, yes, you should.

Is it that difficult to understand that now a band is happy again their sense of humor has been rediscovered?

 

It seems like they just wanted to a short and fast paced set. Hence no "I Miss You" or "Down." This set is just full of energy.

"Brohemian Rhapsody" sounds cool.

16 songs might sound like a lot, but the album is only 42 minutes which is pretty standard for a full length album. Most are around 40 minutes long.

I can't fucking wait to hear this whole album. God dammit.

 

Oh ya, I'm expecting a more diverse setlist for the tour which will include this list plus Adam's Song, STFTK, and/or I Miss You/Down.

That was my first thought on Brohemian, I love the guitar part Matt is playing. Similar to Pathetic, First Date, and the chorus of Dysentery Gary.

 

Damn them for being happy and having fun, huh? Especially for like a whole 30 seconds.

i mean ill take love is dangerous over a song where the punchline is "seeing naked dudes" or one about forcebly trying to penetrate someone, yeah.

Not a long time ago, Mark said this: "the untitled album is my favourite, but they are all cool to me in their own ways."

 

I want to hear the next iteration of untitled (not neighborhoods). I hope there's some untitled style songs on California. I'll just skip the joke songs.

 

The jokes are pretty dumb but instrumentally they're kinda fun

 

I'd take any song from AVA, +44 or Box Car Racer over "Built This Pool" or "Brohemian Rhapsody".

Those two make "Love Is Dangerous" a masterpiece. I like that song a lot, though, anyway. For me, it's only undermined because of its chorus' bad lyrics.

lol, remember just a month ago when everyone was so excited to hear anything blink would make and ready to love it all? Yup.

This is a band that has songs about bestiality. And like 95% of that is driven by Mark who, btw, is still in the band.
