shameless bump for that time i wrote an entire research paper on this band. im already excited to start digging into this album and adding it to the story.

the only references that stick out to me are the bloodstream line and "That medication you love is gonna put you in a grave" being a fairly clear reference to songs like The Bluest Things On Earth and Cul-De-Sac

The NFG/Fireworks take does my fucking head in and I like most pop-punk. I just don't see it. I think early Wonder Years sounds more like NFG. Fireworks didn't reinvent the wheel or anything but if anything they sounded slightly different than their mid-2000s pop-punk counterparts

i think its ridiculous to write off people liking fireworks for their lyrics in a genre thats always been very lyrically driven

 

SWYA is the best STD album and probably the best pop punk album of all time. every STD album slaps though, even CSD
