Fireworks aren't good. A band ripping off NFG should be better at it than they are.

 

seeing Fireworks tour on My Own Confusion at a BBQ grill in bumfuck, NY is an all time memory of mine. i asked them about it a bit before they broke up and they remembered it and were laughing about how weird the green room was and when i mentioned how it burned down they seemed legit sad about it lol

i think fireworks is a much better band than nfg if we're talking the songs actually meaning anything to me through multiple stages of life

 

oh yeah I don’t mean it that way I just don’t associate those bands entirely with that grouping of bands, was like half a step before.

like an algernon/snowing compared to IIOI/TWIABP lol

 

I will go to my grave not understanding the praise that band gets for releasing two albums we would have forgotten about if they were released in 1999.

 

I've never listened to Fireworks but I'm going to assume that at least they never wrote a song about how selfies are the end of the world

 

They literally repurpose melodies from the band, so ... good one.

 

there is some real good writing there. I Support Same Sex Marriage has more to say than any NFG track i can muster to mind.

 

fireworks are way better than new found glory, oh common life sounds nothing like new found glory, new found glory are quite possibly the worst popular pop punk band of all time

 

is that not pop punk in the ultimate nutshell though

The lyrics made be good, but I would not call that good writing. The song structure is basic, the vocals are grating as fuck, and that melody is straight up boring.
