lol wikipedia has Chunk listed as a "post-hardcore" band. genres are fun.

 

I'll say this for Four Year Strong - they tried to move away from easycore - they were just so shit at it they managed to literally insult their fanbase in song at the same time

 

Yeah they never said a word about JJR and are still super tight with him, aren't they?

yeah as far as i know they still use him as a tour manager

 

Hey, that album had that one song that could be a passable Foo Fighters B-side reject, okay? ;)

 

it's interesting to me what has aged and what hasn't. i think Mutiny! has aged very gracefully, for example. like i listen to that record and think that, for the age and maturity of the kids writing it paired with how influential it was on the sound of peers, it's basically a masterpiece.

 

i actually genuinely like quite a bit of SYG's TWBTDOA still.

 

yep, love that record. stuff like Summer Jam isn't the best but i still love it because of memories i have associated with it. those last two songs they released were incredibly promising.

i just figured out who @Shrek is and this now makes more sense

 

the only new school pop punk stuff that i still listen to is suburbia, gospel, and oh common life

 

i think of SYG and FYS as like, before that era almost, haha.

 

i wonder where stuff like Iron Chic fits into all this. are Iron Chic pop punk? i'm inclined to say "absolutely", and if so, they are top tier.
