I really don't think there's much of a story. They looked into it and MAYBE they're still looking into it, that's it.

Microsoft could certainly buy E.A. but it'd be an acquisition on such a high level (E.A. is worth A LOT) that it seems unlikely given how lukewarm greater Microsoft has reportedly been about the Xbox division in general. Corporations change their minds frequently though so who knows.

 

EA is not gonna give up that sweet multi platform Madden and FIFA money just to be bought out by MS

 

Microsoft could be looking to acquire EA or Valve

 

For the right price, anything is possible.

 

for any xbox users: are you having a problem where if you press home it doesn't show your most recent apps/games played?

It doesn't show it for my account but when i sign off and press it, it shows all the previous played stuff.

 

I bet they’d keep all the sports stuff the same(multiplat) and just develop an exclusive Star Wars game and print money off of that.

 

yeah, Minecraft is multiplat to this day and it's an MS game now.

That's not exactly how it works though, depending on Microsoft's approach E.A. wouldn't have much of a choice. Also, Microsoft owns Minecraft and that is still multiplatform. A lot of the licenses E.A. has (sports, Star Wars) probably have to be multiplatform according to their deals anyway.

It's not happening though.

 

Smite released a video basically making a very cringe joke about Epic closing Paragon down. I thought it was funny but I can understand why they took it down.



They took it down due to backlash from a notable smite streamer and his community and some other people in the game industry.

The Smite subreddit/Twitter are basically furious at this streamer for getting it taken down(even though it makes sense to take it down) and are being super toxic.

Just reading that place and how many times they use SJW p****** or other vulgar language makes me want to quit the game. The community is just so toxic to people.

 

Microsoft best not buy EA or Valve (this is coming from an Xbox guy). Create NEW studios and buy out top talent to develop new IPs, not just potentially snatch multiplat games to be 'exclusive'.

We all saw what happened to Rare.

 

The fewer exclusives Microsoft has the better hahaha, for the sake of the games!

I would love a third person adventure game in the Halo universe. Like an ODST game maybe, where you play as Covenant and UNSC force. Maybe make it episodic and released on Game Pass? Maybe it is a meld of Uncharted and Mass Effect?

Like that would be AMAZING and could be done on a smaller budget. Again, make it a 6-8 hours experience that is cut up into a few parts that are polished as fuck.

MS needs to start being creative with their franchises. Make a Forza cart racer, make a Gears pixel art game. Like think outside box, they've done it before they need to do it again.

They made Halo Wars, they made Halo Spartan games. Those were cool and fun.

The screenshots I keep seeing of Monster Hunter look gorgeous. Is anyone in here playing it and if so how is it? I think I might pick it up in a month or two once I’ve cleared some of my backlog of games.
