im fully in favor of some sort of 'minimum cap' and/or you must spend a certain portion of your revenue on roster talent.

Yeah minimum percentage of revenue or something like that is a good idea. Some of this is also next years free agent class, and some is just the class itself. Didn't Hosmer have two 7 year offers? If he isn't signed, that's his fault. JD's contract would be absolutely terrible at the end if he got 7 years, Moustakas idk just meh. And Donaldson and Machado are available next year which hurts him (if Machado plays 3b) Arrieta is going to decline hard, you gotta figure Darvish's postseason really hurt him.

Idk it is a really weird offseason and I actually agree with a lot of what Boras has said. Maybe they need to bring steroids back so players can be good until they're 40 again lol.

 

Also just kinda bad timing that this is the year that the Yankees and Dodgers decide to reset their luxury tax. I can't blame the Yankees when they've paid it every year since 03 or something? I'm not sure, a long time. Otherwise one of them almost certainly would've signed Darvish by now
