    I'm tired.

I actually have a third song I recorded for this that I will most definitely release in the near future.

  6. I feel like interest in these have kinda slowed down for people. Is there something you can think of that we could do to spark some excitement and conversations happening in here again?

Are we churning them out too quickly? Should we take a little break? Are there themes or bands that we should do that we haven't done yet that might make it more fun?

    Let's hear some suggestions!

Fall Out Boy and Dashboard Confessional are what I was thinking of because one just came out and one's coming soon

    I'd do Fall Out Boy.

i’d say sticking so firmly to pop punk/early emo bands in the theme polls is part of the problem. i’d think genre based or decade based, or just cool themes would be better. maybe doing less band-specific ones

  10. Yeah, I feel like the themed ones allow us all to be a lot more creative, and it really opens up a ton of possibilities, depending on what the theme is.

Some themed ones that I've been interested in maybe doing:
    1. Early 2000s alt-rock songs (ex. Nickelback, Limp Bizkit, Hoobastank)
    2. One where we each cover one specific song in any style we want
    3. Songs from our birth year

Honestly I just feel like it's the time of the year - it can be a real slog catching up after the holidays for people with work and before then it's a whole load of family time. It also seems like the world has the flu at the moment too - but next one should maybe be a really strong theme idea for sure.

We've been suggesting songs from our birth year for a loooong time. It could be worth just...doing it, and maybe we don't stick to band band theme band band theme as we have been doing.

Yeah I definitely agree with mixing up the themes, I really like the idea of all recording a take on one song too.

Damn I fucked up. I had my Taylor Swift song like 90% recorded but I've been real down in the dumps this past week and just totally forgot to finish and submit.

Hopefully we do a Taylor comp soon and I can just submit it then!

  15. Just for sake of discussion, what are some songs we could consider for a comp where we all record our own take on the same song?

Seriously though I doubt we can find one song everyone's equally attached to
The year/era idea makes more sense

I don't think everyone has to be attached to it, that's kinda the point. You'll get such different interpretations. I know I wouldn't mind attempting to take on a song that isn't necessarily in my favourites. I think that's what would make it more interesting to be fair.

  23. For sure. I think it'd be super interesting. And it would allow everyone to be super creative.

Some random ideas for songs that could be fun to hear a bunch of covers of:

    Blink 182 - Dammit
Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
    Semisonic - Closing Time
Gin Blossoms - Follow You Down
Don Henley - Boys of Summer
Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now
    Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag
The Cure - Just Like Heaven
    American Football - Never Meant
    Tom Petty - Free Fallin'
Nine Days - Absolutely (Story of a Girl)
American Hi Fi - Flavor of the Weak

But really, how funny would it be if we all just covered "All" by the Descendents?! Haha
