I fully support calling out the double standard that led to Janet’s career falling apart while Justin was unaffected... But the whole narrative that Justin *personally* destroyed her career is a pretty dumb oversimplification that I wish would stop imo

 

Say Something is already the best song I've heard in 2018. That video is incredible. I love all those take away videos but man that was the best one that group has ever done.

 

Apparently the ENTIRE music video is all audio from the live performance. That's actually really fucking cool.

 

I feel like tracking shots have become a little overused in the last few years, but I think it works great for this video.

 

Agreed. Both knew what they were doing. It's awful that it affected her but did nothing to him, but I don't really see where Justin holds more than a fraction of the responsibility, as much as the media and general sexist attitude of Americans. Unless there is more to it that I don't know which there very well may be.

 

Exactly. The larger societal forces that led to her career suffering and not his are awful... but they weren't the fault of Justin Timberlake.

 

This song is definitely exactly what I was expecting / hoping for after all of the flannel shirts and talk of wooded areas and frolicking through fields near campfires wrapped in blankets. Song is really really really good. It makes me wish for a whole JT/Stapleton album. I am definitely curious as to how the entire album will play out given how different, and to me atrociously awful, Supplies is to this song.

This is the best song I've heard from the album. Everything I excepted and more.

 

I prefer this song and it's got my interested in Stapleton. I don't "Not like" any of these but supplies put me off. And this has just seatbelt me right back in!

 

I'm not a country fan but my girlfriend got me on to him. He's incredible. I'd start with the first 4 songs off Traveler

Loved the new song, felt good to really adore something from this album finally. However, Stapleton completely stole the show here

At least put on "Either Way" to hear possibly the greatest recorded vocal performance of the decade.

And frankly, anyone who digs this song will find a lot to love on Stapleton’s albums. He does some more traditional country stuff, but there are definitey soul and classic R&B influences that lineup with Timberlake’s.

 

And I officially think this record is going to be awful. Yikes.

Big Stapleton fan too. No clue what JT is going for.

I’m officially hooked on Say Something now. Such an infectious song.
