I liked it but have had zero desire to go back to it and there’s definitely some things I really disliked about it

I don't think BOTW is above criticism but I think largely it's very subjective.

 

I think the combat could have been better (which doesn't mean it isn't good), but otherwise I think most of the criticism I have heard has missed the mark

The worst criticism of that game that I constantly hear is about the rain. I just was literally never upset by the rain, if there was a cliff I couldn’t climb because it was raining I enjoyed either finding another way around or just doing something else for 5 minutes, there is ALWAYS something else to do.

 

Great example of nonsense BotW criticism, it completely misses the point

 

as if videogames weren't built so they actively prevent the player from finishing them.

 

the bonkers amounts of systems running in the background of BotW is actually one of the best parts about it.

 

I live in London, rain in games makes them more realistic to me

 

BOTW bored me, I didn't find it enjoyable and didn't find it rewarding

But it's cool that everyone else likes it, I wish I did and I definitely tried to

 

I'm really sorry guys, but yeah, it's just not for me unfortunately. Put a solid 10, maybe 15, hours into it, but those sorts of games just aren't for me. I need something a bit more linear unfortunately. I knew it was unlikely I'd like it, but thought I'd give it a go since it's so universally acclaimed.

A game can't be for everyone, I played Titanfall 2 and thought it was boring shooter aimed at 12 year old boys that love COD and transformers films lol

So to be honest with you guys after a day with the one x I’m going to go ahead and say that 4K is a waste on most games at these asset qualities.

Aiming for a lower resolution and going all out on effects and polycount is where it’s at.

 

4K is mostly oversold

 

Nah I’m still a staunch believer but like as we said the other day it REALLY exposes those flaws.

 

Yeah I also think 4K is wayyyyyy overhyped.

(Mirror's Edge Catalyst) I'm so glad I can't use guns. Combat is so much smoother.

Also, I went all in on Monster Hunter: World today. PS4 Pro needed some dusting off. Preordered for next day shipping from Best Buy, and went ahead and jumped into GCU at the same time.
