I mean, you can if you’re going for the ball. Which Bouye was. He got inside leverage and tracked the ball while using his body to box out the WR, which is legal at the catch point

It’s Cooks’s job not to get boxed out when he plays a physical press-cover 3. Bouye has a big body and Cooks didn’t redirect when he got the interior.

I disagree. I think Bouye played that cleanly. He’s allowed to be in the way of a sideline fade that is designed to go toward the sideline anyway. All he did was allow limited space. No pushing or holding. Cooks could have stopped and cut inside but he didn’t. He tried to play chicken against the boundary and speed past him on the outside, and failed.

 

The ball wasnt even in the air yet when he started making contact 15+ yards down the field. By the time he looked back, he had already connected with Cooks arms, shoulder pads and chest.
