I sent in Run, as well as a secret song. It's a bit different from any of the other stuff I've done on here.

I thought I'd do something a little different this time around. Here's a video I did of me playing my cover of "Grow Up" by my friends in Shine Bright.

1. @thesoftskeleton - This Lorde album was in my top 5 fav albums of 2017. Such a great album! I always love when you submit tracks to these compilations because they always are among my favorites, and this is no exception. Beautiful cover that I couldn't help but have open the comp. So good!

2. @JakeRabin - Your covers always riiiiip! When you said you were going to cover "Run" I was stoked because I knew it would rule. You delivered.

3. @bobsheiskawy - One of Bleachers best songs. You did a great stripped down version of it. Almost sounds just like Jack sometimes.

4. bradsonemanband - I've been good friends with the guys in Shine Bright for a long time. These guys are gonna blow up one day. I thought it would be fun to cover one of their songs. My band 20StoriesFalling is going on tour with them in April. It's gonna be a blast. Here's a link to the Shine Bright version of this song. It's much different than my cover, haha.

5. @xkhiemster - I'm gonna have "you're the only motherfucker in the city" stuck in my head all day now, haha. Cool cover. I should listen to St Vincent more. She's never clicked for me for some reason.

6. @Jdaniels - This is a lovely song. You sound great on it. I'll have to check out the original version of the song. I've never heard of Scotty McCreary before this.

7. @Damien Davies - I like this cover! Short and sweet, but doesn't feel like it's missing anything. This was one of the catchiest singles of 2017. Glad someone did it.

8. @JakeRabin - I don't know this song, but of course your cover of it ruuuules!

9. @primavera - Man, this album was a dooooozy. So emotional. The atmosphere on this cover is really dark and fits the song very well.

10. Jdaniels - I was pretty shocked to see that you picked an Old 97's song. I didn't know they were still putting new music out! Shame on me. I really loved that Rhett Miller solo album, The Instigator. I need to listen to more Old 97's. This is a great cover.

11. xkhiemster - Never heard of Japanese Breakfast before, but I liked this. I'll have to check them out.

12. @therookielot - Clever mash up of the 2 songs you called out. I liked this a lot. The guitar tone especially is awesome.

13. Jdaniels - Another artist I've never heard of. But now I'm interested in checking Jason Isbell out. Good cover!

14. xkhiemster - "Appointments" was one of the best songs of 2017. Glad someone covered it for the compilation!

15. @St. Nate - Phoebe Bridgers' album was soooo good! This cover is so great. I wanted it to close out the compilation. It wrapped up the comp perfectly. Solid cover!

Fun fact, I used the same chords as my tbs cover on this. Idk if that counts as lazy or creative I just liked the way they sound

I promise to give feedback by the end of the week guys. Excited to hear everyone’s choices, 2017 was pretty good to me after I heard “after the party” that’s why I chose that song
