rewatching the Clone Wars and its astounding how good this show is

also got back into The Old Republic and im happy that the game is still alive with a pretty decently large community for an MMO.

Had From A Certain Point of View get automatically checked out to me on my kindle but haven’t had time to start it just yet. Hopefully I’ll be able to do so this weekend.

Catching up on the comics and wanted to bring attention to the Forces of Destiny series. One new issue every week in January with a different creative team on each and each issue is a one shot about a certain character(s). Week 1 was Leia and it was fantastic. It’s her on Hoth with Han and Hera(!!!) learning to ride a tauntaun while also on a mission. Week 2 was Rey and the story is just retelling the shorts but the art is great.

This coming week is Hera. Week 4 is Padme and Ashoka. Week 5 is what I’m most excited for Rose and Paige. They’ve been fun reads and easy to jump onto since it’s one issue per character.

I’m slowly rewatching The Clone Wars... just finished the episode this is from. I forgot how great of a moment this was.

As always, Rebels trailer is fucking amazing. so excited. Although the excitement I get from their trailers always is more than I get when I watch the show.

Holy balls. I agree with you that the trailers are always better than the actual show though.

I still really like it, but its unfortunate because there is a lot I love, just something about it doesnt hit me like Clone Wars. It feels like so many episodes are so short and hollow to me. Maybe its because Clone Wars arcs were 3-4 episodes long. Maybe because I really havent connected to Ezra (the main character) at all. idk

I've watched the whole season up to this point but I honestly could not tell you anything that's happened. I've started zoning out a lot during this season :/

Also glad we get to see Hondo one last time. Looks like he's gonna be fighting with the Rebels.

I feel the same way. There's been a lot of good episodes, but nothing this season has really stuck in my mind.

The saw gerrera and Mom mothma episode was one of my favorites of the series. Also hera has had a handful of badass moments this season. Lightspeeding through the hangar particularly

It’s not even close to me. As I said above, I’m currently rewatching Clone Wars, and there is some really great stuff... but I am dreading stuff like that 5 episode arc with the droid mission. Or most of the Jar Jar stuff.

It’s a 4 episode arc but yea its not great lol but I at least thought the Gregor stuff at the end was really good. And jar jar isn’t in it that much. Just like TLJ the lows are lower but the highs are like miles higher imo.

There’s very very little in Rebels personally that compares to most of the clone wars. Off the top of my head the end of season two with maul/Ashoka/Vader and the Obi-Wan and maul episode, Sabine training with the Dark Saber (which didnt really mean much), and The Bendu stuff. those are the stories I can distinctly remember and LOVE. Even so the arcs werent that long. Really just one or two episodes each. the rest is just kind of mildly entertaining for me.

Also I like the characters way more in TCW. Kanan is the only character that rivals any main character in TCW for me. Im not a fan of Ezra. Hera and Sabine are great but they arent featured that much. I like the action way more in CW. The stories were way more captivating for me and had so much depth since they were longer arcs. The clone troopers were great. The villains were way consistently better. Dooku. Ventress. Savage. Maul. Palpatine. Grievous. Cad Bane. Hondo.

Youre not wrong or anything but as you said its not even close for me lol. Curious though. What do you like more about Rebels over CW? just those bad arcs/inconsistency or you just like the characters/stories/animation more?

In general I like the far tighter focus on the Phoenix crew rather than alternating characters so often. I love the whole Phoenix crew and love that a lot of TCW threads that got left unanswered are picked up here.

I find it consistently better and consistency is vital when viewing a series as a whole.

I’ve enjoyed Thrawn more than pretty much anyone from TCW when it comes to villains.

Fair enough. I loved the freshness of alternating focus’. Got to go in deeper with so many characters. Even the villains had their own arcs which was great but I understand what you mean. What’s your feelings on Ezra?

But 100% Agree with the threads being picked up by rebels. Considering how TCW ended I’m happy Feloni at least had a chance to see his creative vision through for Ashoka and Maul.

Also I know it’s probably not going to happen but I really want to see Feloni do more than animation. I’m holding out hope for the live action series but I know there’s another animated one too and imagine he’s doing that.

Also I really want Sam Witwer (voice of Maul/emperor a few times) to be in a live action movie or the show. He does such a good job with villains and probably knows more about Star Wars than anyone not named Pablo Hidalgo.

  21. Agree that clone wars is better than rebels. There may be some bad arcs in clone wars but the highs are much higher than rebels.

Been meaning to ask. Has anyone read Cobalt Squadron/ have any thoughts on it? Would like to know more about Rose/Paige and will probably get it once its cheaper.

Prefer Rebels. Still like Clone Wars, I just more enjoy the OT vibe and the Ghost Crew.

I like Clone Wars more overall. That being said, Rebels has the Twin Suns episode which is one of the best pieces of canon in this whole universe.
