Love it. Seriously i love that song.

If i did drugs, i’d do them to that song. Anthemic as fuck, and that intro! I can feel the euphoria growing. You’re the best man, i want to hug everyone here. Best night ever, hope it never ends. Wait, what was your name again? Does your jaw clench as much as mine? Fuck, i think i left the stove on. I’m gonna get a drink. When did the sun come up?

Everyone should check out the new album by The Xcerts, Hold On To Your Heart. @BTDandFeelingThis I think you'd like it a lot.

I haven't seen a "so good" in a bit, so I'll share the "bathroom accident" story with everyone.

Yesterday afternoon was an afternoon like most others. I typically eat lunch in the 12:00-12:30 time frame and I typically leave my office (train, whatever) in the 4:30-5:00 time frame, so I've found that a bathroom break around 3:00 or so is a good way to break up the afternoon and also relieve a little pressure on that 33 year old bladder of mine.

The building (or train, whatever) that I work in is roughly 100 years old and the plumbing does not always work as it's intended to. Yesterday was one of those days.

I made the trek upstairs to the bathroom (I'm on the fifth floor and the men's restrooms are on even numbered floors, don't ask me why-I didn't build it) and I opened the door, but to my surprise and dismay I took one step and slipped on the floor and fell down so I was laying on my back and looking up at the ceiling. Apparently there was some water leak (I choose to believe it was water) and the entire floor was covered in water. Luckily, there was no one in there that saw me and I quickly scrambled to my feet. I could feel the wetness clinging to me and I looked in the mirror and it was just as bad as I had expected - my entire back from the top of my shirt down to the bottom of my pants was soaked.

At that point I still had to go to the bathroom so I figured I might as well still go. I made the walk of shame back down to my fifth floor cube and did a pretty spectacular job of avoiding human contact...until I got about 10 feet away from where I sit. The guy that I sit next to saw me and my cover was blown.

I considered leaving to go home right then, but I don't have a ton of extra PTO and I hate to use it for reasons like "slipped in toilet water" so I sat in my chair the rest of the afternoon and tried to avoid anymore embarrassing interactions. (Note to self: it might not be a bad idea to keep a change of clothes at work - one of my old co-workers used to keep changes of clothes at work, but I think that was more because he was a hardcore alcoholic and would sometimes end up sleeping at his desk after a rough night out on the town).

So that's the "bathroom accident" story. I don't want anybody thinking that I **** myself.

@KidLightning Have you ever worked on any workers comp cases?

that sucks. if that were to happen to me, I'd take off and go home. I don't think I'd use any PTO for it either.

It really is although I was expecting it to pick up a bit toward the end or have a better transition into "Daydream".
I also loved the 3 pre-release tracks and their last album too.

Don't speak to me all condescending like.

Damn, that sucks. I need to keep a change of clothes at work too. Most days I have my biking clothes I could change into, but that's not something I want to wear all day at work.

I haven't worked on any workers' comp cases, but if you actually think you were injured you should get checked out by a doctor and have the injury documented, and report it, in writing, to your supervisor ASAP.

I feel like it'll be a good summer record. It'd work well as a night drive record too!

Probably what I should've done looking back on it. Honestly, it's a good thing that it happened to me and not a handful of other people here. I work with a lot of people in their 60s and if it happened to one of them it could've been worse with broken bones, etc.

After I got back to my desk I called the maintenance guy to give him a heads up and he didn't really seem to care too much. He just said "Ok, yeah I'll add it to my list" and I said that he should probably make a priority since there was water everywhere and (at least) one person had already fallen because of it.

Yeah, I think it will be great in the warm weather and for driving. Also feels like a good cleaning the house record.

Nah, I'm completely fine. Just way more of an inconvenience than anything. I texted my wife about it right after it happened and she wanted me to go to HR to fill out paperwork but I told her that I felt fine (and really I just didn't want anybody else seeing me in that condition!)

  20. Elder Lightning

With metal in my bones and punk in my heart Supporter

Yeah, always good to loop in HR, so there's a second set of eyes on it in case your supervisor brushes it off.

If you did have a case you could call @Kingjohn_654 as a witness since you gave him a (close to) contemporaneous account of the incident.

In the dead of night I tried to call
But the phone rang out and I have lost it all
In the dead of night I bring myself just to feel
'Cause I hate falling asleep without you
Hold on to your heart (on to your heart)

@Kingjohn_654 come to Ohio to testify on my behalf.

    I'll buy you lunch!

If you like The Maine, you'll like this The Xcerts album. Some similarities there, though not as much 3EB influence.

  24. Elder Lightning

With metal in my bones and punk in my heart Supporter

No you won't. That would be a bad idea.

I mean, you could buy him lunch while he's there, but don't make that a reason for him to come testify on your behalf.

  25. Larry David

I'll see you again in 25 years Prestigious

That's an awful story man! I'm glad that the worst that came out of it was a wet shirt and embarrassment though! That could've been much, much worse!!!
